Nope, not viable at all. A lot of it is straight up atomized on reentry especially for the smaller devices. Some of it is rare and some is not. The wet dream of these billionaires is they will be the first to figure out space mining and then manufacture. That’s why Elon musk has spacex and the boring company. Then raw resources like precious metals become infinite over night. Hopefully capitalism dies before that happens so we can all enjoy that.

And the orbits of that debris would still decay within a decade in LEO.
- Comment on A million new SpaceX satellites will destroy the night sky — for everyone on Earth 1 week ago:
There’s reasonable hope at least that this is a problem that will solve itself, and unfortunately we have bigger problems to worry about.

That’s fair but unfortunately nothing compared to the pollution from launching them
- Comment on A million new SpaceX satellites will destroy the night sky — for everyone on Earth 1 week ago:
Lmao I wish. Satellites and their components have to be “hardened” to survive extreme temperatures and radiation in space. There’s probably nothing on it you could disable with any laser you could buy. Plus there’s the matter of targeting them.

No way that’s cheaper or easier than waiting
- Comment on A million new SpaceX satellites will destroy the night sky — for everyone on Earth 1 week ago:
Especially with the number of them it’s probably cheaper to just put up new satellites. LEO sats are designed to be temporary.
- Comment on A million new SpaceX satellites will destroy the night sky — for everyone on Earth 1 week ago:
LEO satellites decay very quickly every one of them will burn up in the atmosphere within 10 years. They need to be replaced constantly. As soon as spacex goes out of business these will all fall out of the sky.

- Comment on Forget cereal bars, what's your flavor of drug in the morning? 4 weeks ago:
In my opinion this is splitting hairs. Chewing tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, etc., are tobacco products having tobacco as a main ingredient. Nicotine gum, pouches, patches, and ecigs are nicotine products as they have nicotine (synthetic or derived) but no actual tobacco. If the got the nicotine from eggplants you wouldn’t call it an eggplant product.

- Comment on Interesting chart of how long stuff stays in your body. 1 month ago:
Maybe it’s splitting hairs but THC does not stay in your body for a month. It get processed by your liver into the non-psychoactive THCOOH after a few hours. This is what stays in your system and it’s also what drug tests are testing for.

This guy gets it. Top to bottom the entire system is designed to exploit workers. Little or no social safety net, worker protections, time off even for new mothers. We have a two party system and electoral college explicitly designed to veto inconvenient votes. Our public school system is designed to condition you to work on a factory floor with a bell telling you when and where to be. We have the largest prison population in the world because slavery is an acceptable “punishment.” All of it is kept running by an Enormous propaganda machine the very real threat of homelessness which most Americans are only a few missed paychecks away from.
