Sweet, I’ll be placing pixels again this year to get us on the Canvas. I feel like we night have fewer active placers than last year but idk. We completed this size fairly early and last year and folks moved to other designs so I bet we can make the same size happen again As for location, we should probably pick a spot after the first hour or so to avoid immediately fighting with another comm

Nice. Definitely down to coordinate the .zip logo again. We were pretty prominent last time, though if Mastodon gets involved, this year will be totally different

I recommend pothos as well. Snake plant or some other can be as easy but I just like how leafy a pothos can be.

Excellent - I’m really looking forward to 0.19 - finally we’re getting per user instance bans which I know a lot of people have asked for. It’s also adding scaled sort (promoting smaller communities) and controversial sort, which I’ve been really missing on the AskLemmy discussions lol. Hope the upgrade is easy!

Not sure about the other but PoppinKREAM became known on Reddit during the Mueller probe for very long, very well researched and cited comments mostly related to politics. Their citation style in particular meant their comments got tons of Reddit awards and were highly visible.

Thanks for crossposting, @Demigodrick@lemmy.zip. 36k active is more than I would have guessed but most people are probably on the low end for comments/posts. But I am happy that 4 months later Lemmy has proven active enough to stand on its own, at least for me. It sounds like .zip is stable on donations for now but I will likely contribute again in the future. Keep up the good work!

Not too much to stop reading. It’s a pretty dry subject so the opinions and more hot-button references made the piece more readable. Though I think the characters interviewed could have added enough life without the author injecting snide comments.

I really like this film, I think it’s underrated. But yeah the style makes it hard to follow on the first watch.

Yeah I agree - the Activity tab and the DMs look like they are exact copies of the Teams interface. I mean, it’s an intuitive way to display info but I don’t see much design innovation with this announcement

Ah bummer. Not sure if there’s an easy way then.

Does your phone have Samsung Modes and Routines? if so, you can make a Mode that sets Dislay to Always On.

Reposting the template link from the other post for folks working on this: canvas.toast.ooo/#x=594&y=692&scale=7.39&…
We’ve clearly switched the main color from #7 to #11.
I’ve started working on the gray “second border” around the whole design.
