- Comment on Inside Doug Ford’s Plan to Starve Ontario’s Universities | The Walrus 1 week ago:
He is a vocal Trump supporter, so yes.
The Ontario election is Feb 27 and he is on track for a third majority, in part since cons thrive on low voter turnout.
Ford is actively suppressing voter turnout by calling a winter snap election, shortening the voting period, banning his local candidates from debates, and muzzling them from speaking to press. He also illegally spent >$100 million of taxpayer dollars on his own campaign.

If Americans want to help, please read.
Right now, Pierre Poilievre, Doug Ford, and Danielle Smith are the political candidates who pose the greatest threat to Canada. All are big Trump supporters.
PP is close to winning federally but can be realistically defeated and Doug Ford is set up for a landslide victory as the Premier of Ontario. We need help with Ford.
Please, please, please help repost and share on social media when you see ways to defeat them.
I prefer Mastodon but the reality is more Canadians are on Bluesky and Shitter.
A good start is to follow these accounts and help share.

bsky.app/profile/commongroundon.bsky.socialI am not thrilled with the federal liberals but they are by far the greatest chance of defeating PP: bsky.app/profile/mark-carney.bsky.social

We don’t have to support any of them. That’s a false dichotomy.

It sucks but what else was he supposed to do? He had no passport and if he got extradited to the USA then he’d spend years of a life sentence in solitary confinement at a CMU prison or worse. Take one look at how the US government treats those they consider terrorists and you’ll understand his decision.
Obligatory fuck Putin and his war on Ukraine.

Infinite seems like it’s low-balling it
Infinite by definition cannot be “low-balling”.
0% of problems can be solved by Turing machines (same way 0% of real numbers are integers)
This is incorrect. Any computable problem can be solved by a Turing machine. You can look at the Church-Turing thesis if you want to learn more.
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 10 months ago:
In fact, there’s infinite problems that cannot he solved by Turing machnes!
(There are countably many Turing-computable problems and uncountably many non-Turing-computable problems)

That sounds like an edge case that may need more creative solutions, or implementing breaks, etc. But I’d wager that for most workplaces this isn’t the case.

You’ll notice OP wasn’t comparing billionaires, they were comparing automotive CEOs. So that’s a scarecrow argument. All of the other automotive CEOs have an order of magnitude less wealth than Musk.
He has the wealth of a nation state and owns one of the world’s largest social media sites, a rocket company, a car company, and actively promotes far-right hate speech and meddles in international politics.

I’m holding out until 2043 when the average age of presidents is around 100 and they’re so senile that they communicate with grunting noises. Then we can have their personal support worker interpreting it like a fucking geriatric oracle of Delphi.
That’ll be much better. PSW ain’t got no lobbyists.
