Nah, you’re right. Only my mother and father are. ☺️
- Comment on The US Secretary of Education referred to AI as ‘A1,’ like the steak sauce 2 weeks ago:
No, I’m Dutch, I was born and raised here without influence of the Norwegian culture.
Oh, I guess that’s where we differ. My family is from Leipzig, and the “German culture” (which is largely different from that of Americans in my particular state) was something engrained in me since birth.
I also spent 1/3 of my life visiting family in Germany.
But more importantly, my comment was mostly a remark about the idiocy of American politics, and how I’d like to distance myself from the notion of “Americanism” as much as possible, even on a genetic level.
It’s not that serious 😅

As a descendent of German migrants, I’m officially dropping the “American” from “German-American.” I no longer want to be associated with this level of stupidity.

Does it need to be mixed with milk thistle or just consumed alone? I keep forgetting 🤔

Sorry, but I prefer her over Trump any day. So, by default, I do miss her.

Been playing that one on PS5 lately. I feel bad for neglecting BG3, but it’s such an investment, and I know I’ll get distracted.

Another amazing one.
Ohhh, and the original Diablo. Tristram was such a familiar place after a while.

That’s my go-to “storyline” game. I have so many great (and terrible—thanks, Lich) memories of that game.
I picked it up on a whim, not knowing a single thing about it. Next thing you know, I’m collecting every Black Isle/BG game and spinoff.

Exactly. That’s why I tend to always stick to the Fediverse, even when newer, trendier options pop up (like Bluesky).

As someone who ditched Reddit a couple of years ago in favor of Lemmy, I feel a bit vindicated. I thought my “dump Reddit” mentality was maybe unjustified, but… here we are. No regrets.

Currently using Arctic. I was using Voyager for a while, but the Arctic dev (devs?) are so good about bug fixes and adding new features, I had to switch.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying about me not having actually experienced the full gameplay. I guess the lack of turn-based play is what made me not super interested to begin with, though.
I’m old (ha), and my favorite games are the old FF series, Baldur’s Gate, etc. that all have turn-based combat. Maybe I enjoy it because I’m slow 😂

Ah, I see what you’re saying. Under normal circumstances, I would suggest to new users to signup on the “flagship instance”, but in Lemmy’s case… nah.
To be perfectly honest, I’m not certain what content I’m not seeing because, well, I haven’t seen it 😅. Some instances seem to do a good job of only blocking content from notoriously bad sources.
