I think you are referring to GNU Taler.
It recently started operating in a kind of open beta in Switzerland https://news.itsfoss.com/gnu-taler-swiss-operations/

Unless I missed that feature, no, you only have one version.
But it creates a link to archive.org so you can see if there’s older versions there. - Comment on As governments around the world are set to make the Internet more restrictive and privacy-invading, we need a solution 3 days ago:
You have two things, the application and the libraries.
The libraries are files with the data you want to host (wikipedia, stack overflow, etc).
There’s a lot of applications for different platforms. Some allow to download the libraries directly, otherwise you can download them manually into a folder and tell the app where to find them. - Comment on As governments around the world are set to make the Internet more restrictive and privacy-invading, we need a solution 3 days ago:
Yes! It saves it as HTML, readable HTML, PDF and image.
Results can vary a lot depending on how the page is implemented. Sometimes most of the formats are empty or broken, but I always got at least one that’s usable. - Comment on As governments around the world are set to make the Internet more restrictive and privacy-invading, we need a solution 4 days ago:
The official website has a lot of good resources. You can burn the firmware into the devices directly from there.

I have Kiwix (offline versions of Wikipedia and other online resources) and Linkwarden (preserve specific websites in multiple formats) running on my home server.
- Comment on Zero-day: Bluetooth gap turns millions of headphones into listening stations 5 weeks ago:
I think BLE is only required for the initial compromise (extracting the pairing key). After that the attack can be performed over classic BT, and can impersonate either part (headphones or phone) to the other.
It’s still very targeted and sophisticated, so no reason to panic unless you have reasons to think someone with the resources could target you.
Regarding the attacks, they got way beyond eavesdropping calls, since BT headphones usually have access to contacts and smart assistants, that you can use to extract a lot more information - Comment on Reddit in talks to embrace Sam Altman’s iris-scanning Orb to verify users 5 weeks ago:
Every frickin day… at least once, I read a post’s title and start looking around for clues that it’s not real… My mind goes: “is it the onion? Is it April’s fools again already? This can’t be true…”

+1 for Volumio! I didn’t know it can use Jellyfin as a media source. To be fair, I just started using Jellyfin and didn’t want to migrate everything to it until being sure it will stay. So far it’s looking very good though.

- ‘No’ is already the default, that’s why you get the banners, to trick you into opting in. There are a couple of filters that you can enable in uBlock Origin to get rid of (most of) the banners.

I recently installed the “Dataview” plug-in, and it’s amazing. You can create documents or sections by querying data from other documents, effectively using Obsidian as a database.

Not talking about any reviewer in particular, but in general, even if they are not payed, they get the game for free and usually have affiliate links to buy the game, so there’s at least a couple of incentives to do a better review.
Again, not accusing anyone, but the potential for bias/conflict of interest is something to keep in mind when watching those types of reviews. - Comment on [deleted] 3 months ago:
In some countries, you need to declare expensive items when you are leaving the country, otherwise you pay the tariff when you return.

Exactly… I’m enjoying it very much so far.

- Comment on 4 or more hours of daily screen time linked to more anxiety and depression in teens, data shows 8 months ago:
Exactly. Also, the key word in these type of studies is “linked”, which means that’s only a correlation, with no prove of causality. The way it’s written, it makes you think that the screen time causes anxiety and depression, but there are other studies that suggest the causality goes in the other direction, kids that suffer from depression tend to spend more time in social media.

Keepass is exactly that. Basically all the client side parts, and the database is a single encrypted file that you can sync however you want.
