- Comment on Valve attempts to deal with jokes, memes and ASCII art reviews on Steam 2 months ago:
I wish it was rarer is all. The joke got old after it was 4 out of 5 reviews with just something like “my girlfriend said she’d buy me this game if this review got 1 million likes” or a big ASCII Heavy giving thumbs up.
YouTube comments are like that too. Everyone wants to be funny. Say something real.
- Comment on Civil servants cannot wear ‘fetish gear’ to work, minister confirms 2 months ago:
Well, the article itself dedicates a section to how she’s been targeted for “gender ideology”, which is dog whistle for “trans”. Calling non-cis gender expression a “fetish” is another dog whistle. Those two points in combination make her trans-ness relevant, even if the author isn’t going so far as to explicitly call out that this anti-trans behavior.
- Comment on Starfield's latest update draws player ire by sticking a bounty hunting quest behind the Creation Club paywall 5 months ago:
$7, but you a only spend $10 at a time! It ain’t gonna be 10 quests or 5 quests. It’s gonna be like 3 or six so you’ll be left with $9 in coins and feel like you’re wasting cash if you don’t spend another $10 to buy some other creation club shit.
God I fucking hate the premium currency tactic.

- Comment on [HN] The HP Printer USB Sticker Trick Also Works for Thermaltake PSUs 1 year ago:
HP made a wifi-only printer (to collect your data). Someone noticed it’s not WiFi only, it’s just a normal printer with a sticker over the USB port because they couldn’t be bothered to make an entire new printer model to badger you into using.
Whatever the Thermal take PSUs are, it looks like they pulled a similar trick with their hidden ports.
