- Comment on Physical or Digital? 8 months ago:
I'm despising the growing trend of devs/publishers not offering a physical option for consoles (looking at you, Alan Wake 2). I like having the disc on my shelf, especially if it's a series.
- Comment on What does getting "delisted" off Steam means for games I already own? 8 months ago:
Alan Wake is actually back on Steam! Remedy was able to work something out with the music rights (the reason why it was delisted) that put it back on virtual storefronts.
- Comment on First game you played 9 months ago:
Oregon Trail on Apple IIGS.
We also had Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, but I wasn't as interested in that as much. - Comment on There are "five Resident Evil games in development right now, including Resident Evil 9", leaker claims 9 months ago:
I'm really hoping Code Veronica is one. I tried to play the original, but I am just not made for those old school tank controls.
- Comment on Silent Hill 2 Remake - Gameplay Reveal Trailer 9 months ago:
Man, I was looking forward to this and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2, but after seeing both gameplay trailers today, I'm just... not anymore. Like wtf are these graphics.
- Comment on Spec Ops: The Line permanently removed from Steam and other digital stores 9 months ago:
If you have time for some reading, here's a really great article from a few years ago that talks about licensing in video games and how complicated it can be. Depending on what exactly you want to do with the music in/with the game, a developer could be looking at having to deal with more than one license. I imagine it could get expensive very easily.
- Comment on Spec Ops: The Line permanently removed from Steam and other digital stores 9 months ago:
The licenses referenced likely have to do with the game’s music. During the The Line’s menu screen, Jimi Hendrix’s rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” can be heard while the game’s soundtrack includes Martha and The Vandellas’ “Nowhere to Run.”
The same thing happened to the first Alan Wake before they worked something out to get it back (even though it took almost a decade). Consequently, that's also one of the reasons they wrote original songs for the sequel. It's very much a gamble these days to license music for games.

Even complete with a cast that you normally only see in Hollywood movies.
- Comment on What are some of the best mini-games youve played? (games inside games) 10 months ago:
I spent way more time than I should have playing Dice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
- Comment on Which is less religious: Xmas or Christmas? 10 months ago:
Festivus, for the rest of us.
- Comment on Many players have become "patient gamers". What are games people might miss out on by waiting for sales? 10 months ago:
It would be interesting to see how many 'patient gamers' are actually into multiplayer games at all because of this reason. I wouldn't call myself one per se, but I probably fit the criteria, and most of the games I wait to come on sale are single player campaign.

I'm sorry, the what?
- Comment on What's your favorite game that you will NEVER finish? 10 months ago:
Subnautica. I always have a lot of fun building out my base and discovering things and poking around, but after a while I get distracted by another game and put Subnautica on the back burner.
Another one is Darkest Dungeon. I have over 100 hours in that game and loved it, but I kind of stopped playing after all the strategies I had been using stopped working and all my parties kept getting annihilated. I was spending so much time recruiting, training, curing, etc that it sort of stopped being fun. - Comment on Frogwares is now publisher of The Sinking City 10 months ago:
That might be the case, especially since Nacon messed things up and DLCs are all over the place depending on what platform you look at.
But with the way that announcement is worded, it sound like they may more plans for the game in the future too. I hope so, because it really is a fun game imo. - Comment on Frogwares is now publisher of The Sinking City 10 months ago:
Looks like they'll also be releasing a new DLC as well, according to this post on Steam. Nice to see they still have more content for the game.
- Comment on Max Payne voice actor James McCaffrey has passed away 11 months ago:
Dang, I was really hoping this wasn't true. I was just talking with a friend a couple days ago about how great and iconic James is as Max Payne.
- Comment on What are some helpful gaming websites you wish people knew? 11 months ago:
These are two that might be well known, but I don't really hear people talking about:
- I use Map Genie quite a bit. It's just a bunch of interactive maps for a lot of different games, but it's really helpful when looking for that one item you're missing, or waypoints in general. It's mostly geared towards open world games.
- I also use How Long To Beat if I looking to play a new game but don't really want to spend over a certain amount of hours playing. (Although I'm a bit of a slow player, so whatever completion times are listed I have to multiply by 2).
The other reference sites I use like NeoSeeker and Game FAQs are pretty well known and have been around for ages.
- Comment on What moment from a video game made you cry? 11 months ago:
The end of LA Noire got to me. I still can't play the last case without tearing up.
- Comment on Lovecraft-Inspired Games (list of lists) [Videogame] 1 year ago:
Very nice to see The Sinking City included so many times. There was so much weirdness surrounding it's release that I feel like it gets swept under the rug a lot. It's incredibly underrated in my opinion, and while not the greatest, it has interesting characters and story.

I've played the first Bloodlines game so much (it's #3 as far as hours played in my Steam library) and absolutely love it and am in a similar boat that you are, except I know Chinese Room through Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs (which I also love). I'm doubtful but optimistically hopeful that I will be proved wrong.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
Yeah, more often than not when I'm playing on my Switch, it's docked and hooked up to a monitor. Sometimes that little screen is not enough for me.
- Comment on Dead Space 3 producer "would redo it almost completely" 1 year ago:
I don't know, I had fun playing it, and I really like the build your own weapon aspect of it. The story definitely needed a rework though. The ending also left the whole series on a bit of a sour note imo.
- Comment on What's the most desturbing thing when you look up your username in SteamDB? 1 year ago:
There's only 4 games that I've bought that I've paid over $55 for. Over the 10 years I've apparently been on Steam, I would have thought there'd be more in that price range, but I guess I've been pretty good at taking advantage of sales.
- Comment on Coming Soon to Game Pass: Cities: Skylines II, Dead Space, Jusant, Mineko’s Night Market, and More - Xbox Wire 1 year ago:
The original Dead Space (along with the two sequels) is already on Game Pass, so it'd have to be the remake.

- Comment on Netflix is planning to raise prices… again 1 year ago:
I watch Netflix on occasion and share it will my sibling, who watches it a ton. If it does go up any higher, I'm going to have to start paying for half. Otherwise, I'll just have to cancel. They don't have enough content to justify me paying anymore than I currently am. I'm mostly on Hulu anyway.

I'm kind of surprised at Saw X tbh. I've seen a lot more excitement for it in my online circles than any of the previous installments.
