- Comment on [News] Adult Swim Announces Toonami Rewind Block With Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Naruto Anime 1 day ago:
This is actually kinda dope lol. I watch old recordings of toonami with these same shows a lot when I go to bed on weekend nights. maybe I’ll get a slingtv trial or something just to tune in and show my support.
- Comment on I don't have long left 1 day ago:
I’ve had the same bag since 2018, I got it for school. Since then I’ve taken it all over the country many times and currently it’s still one of the only items I have from my “old life” after I had to move 2 years ago and lost most everything else. It’s also been discontinued. If anything happens to it I will genuinely be as heartbroken as losing a friend.
- Comment on Winamp has announced that it is opening up its source code to enable collaborative development of its legendary player for Windows 3 days ago:
if you’re being for real, it’s successor is this. though compared to other offerings these days I don’t really prefer to use it. open source and no ads tho so that’s cool.
- Comment on Douglas MacArthur was going to take things too far 5 days ago:
it’s actually become insanely popular with gen z / alpha in the last couple years.
- Comment on As someone who is aging. Late thirties. How can I keep my finger on the pulse of current trends, particularly in music? 1 week ago:
Honestly, just follow some Instagram meme pages or browse SoundCloud’s rap playlists. As a young person™️, this is how I’ve always found stuff, including xxxtentacion and lil peep when I was younger and they were both still around. If you’re worried about “invading” our spaces like the other comment says, I think that sentiment is changing. I’ve befriended some older peeps online just for having anime pfps and stuff lmao.

Played fallout 4, now I’m back to trying new Vegas again

Noted! I have been meaning to cross outer worlds off my list for a while.

At first I dabbled quite a bit with it, decorating up the castle. But as time went on I honestly stopped paying attention to it.
- Comment on 9 years later, I finally played fallout 4 1 week ago:
I definitely plan to get the season pass in the future if I can catch it on sale as well! I definitely wouldn’t say I’m done with the game as a whole, but for the time being I am just waiting to pick up the DLC.
- Comment on 9 years later, I finally played fallout 4 1 week ago:
That part about weapons and armour rang true for me as well. I spent a lot of time just wandering the commonwealth looking for junk to upgrade with and levelling my gunsmith up as a result. I think this is the most I’ve really explored in a game. Personally I didn’t really go in looking for anything so I was pleasantly surprised. But I definitely can see how say, someone going in for full role playing immersion from a game wouldn’t feel quite the same.

I used to order doordash junk all the time, it was an over year long battle to stop. it was just so convenient but it burned money.
- Comment on Windows 11 Start menu ads are now rolling out to everyone 3 weeks ago:
I’ll probably look more into it, but the only reason I didn’t before is because I couldn’t find one in my price range with reasonable specs that ran on Linux. I have a G15 5515 that cost me around 500 when I got it, has an rtx 3050 and 16gb ram with a ryzen 5. System76 didn’t really have any comparable offerings for that price at the time.

Wait, could you explain? So KDE can control scaling at the application level? Because I was able to set the scaling in the actual settings just fine and it worked for the UI and most applications. I just remember a few wouldn’t scale up no matter what I did.
- Comment on Windows 11 Start menu ads are now rolling out to everyone 3 weeks ago:
Yep, Nvidia. As for the scaling issues I’m not sure either. UI elements were fine but no matter what desktop environment I used, some things (though I can only remember steam immediately) would be super tiny in full 1080p instead of scaling with the rest of the applications. Didn’t try tiling window managers because honestly I don’t enjoy them so no comment on that one.

I really, really wish Linux worked better on my gaming laptop. I used it for many years on desktop as my only OS (hopped many distros and ended back on mint) but on laptops I just can’t find a distro without considerable issues. Whether it be display scaling problems, performance, not being able to switch my video card mode, etc…
- Comment on YouTube is finally cracking down on third-party apps that enable ad-blocking 4 weeks ago:
YouTube already denies many creators of their due rewards from viewership over trivial things like saying the word “hell” in a video. it’s obviously something more considering it’s Google we’re talking about.

I don’t know why, but I can’t sign up for revolt. They never sent me the verification. Now they just know 2 of my email addresses making me double fucked if a data leak ever happens.

first news I’ve looked forward to since the sailor cosmos movies! probably one of my favourite adaptations. it’s wild how long ago season 1 was already.
- Comment on Firefox saw an increase in users (~50% in Germany and ~30% in France) following Apple’s default browser changes in the EU, as did Brave. 2 months ago:
I have iOS 15.4 and I have a default browser that isn’t Safari. This is more in reference to a new popup on first time bootup that asks you to pick a browser. You could pick a default one before this, you just had to go download it first like on a computer.

how do companies NEVER learn? I seriously can’t fathom watching industry failures time after time and still thinking “this time will be different”.
- Comment on Data contamination expert 👌 2 months ago:
FWIW, I requested an old reddit accounts data the other day under CCPA and all the contamination was in there. My guess is their backend updates every so often. i guess i made a good call to edit my comments and leave them there to simmer before i deleted them along with the account. perhaps this is the way?
- Comment on Reddit started doing what they always wanted to do, sell user content to AI. 2 months ago:
back when I made my Lemmy account I used a tool called redact to masse edit them into gibberish and then after a few days of making sure it got them all, I deleted them all and then my account.
- Comment on Mozilla lays off 60 people, wants to build AI into Firefox 2 months ago:
oh hey it’s you! I actually thought about your comments as soon as I saw this headline. I switched from Firefox to brave a few years ago, then recently switched to waterfox as they are again independent of system1 like before. the browser itself removes a lot of unnecessary Mozilla integrations and also reverts the proton UI. maybe forks like this or Librewolf are the future for this browser?

I’ve been using soulseek and 3utools ever since they made iTunes a Microsoft store app. guess I’m not surprised it ended up like this.

This is absolutely amazing, the actual Reddit site is so buggy on mobile. half the time can’t even get it to scroll or show more comments. this will circumvent the need for Reddit entirely when looking for specific or niche info. thanks for sharing!
- Comment on How many of you actually use the headphone jack on your phone? 5 months ago:
Every single day, maybe a few times a year I don’t use it. Though because I have an iphone, my headphone jack is on an adapter. But still, I know for certain it’s not something I can ever give up at this point, have tried the Bluetooth thing.
