So this dude can only hate Elon if he sells the car he already paid Tesla for?

Autopilot and Pro have absolutely no tie other than Pro being a requirement to leverage the enterprise feature

Further, Microsoft has a support queue specifically for requesting removal
… Not that anyone with technical chops should care. This will only ever impact you at OOBE

Yes. If that’s not for you, that’s fine! If that isn’t a dealbreaker, it’s an exceptional platform

Yes, there was an incident where ~1k people received push notifications that were intended for other accounts
Shitty, but they addressed the issue within 24hr, notified impacted users, and published a sitrep. They handled it extremely well imo, but also you could disable the cloud connection if it concerns you

UniFi Protect is outstanding. You need to buy one of their NVRs or cloud gateways to use it, but it’s incredible & wouldn’t want another system for our house/family business

This is a very elegant solution, but unfortunately it’s a productive use of our tax dollars so we’ll never do that here in the U.S.
- Comment on Microsoft is adding a new key to PC keyboards for the first time since 1994 10 months ago:
I was going to say, currently working in K12 & this key would be a nightmare for us. We definitely can’t pay Microsoft’s minimums - disabling/remapping the key wouldn’t be hard, but it’s obnoxious it becomes a priority.

Not surprised, but exceptionally lame.

Yeah, unfortunately im prepared for that being the reality :(

I might go feral if they don’t release on PC at launch. This looks INCREDIBLE, they’ve knocked it out of the park.

I’m fully aligned here. I’m at the point where I lurk every day, but I remain wishing the niche communities were around. Obviously, I should be contributing myself, but…

I have no idea how i’d replace YouTube in my life - sites like Reddit are one thing, but there is no current viable analogue to YouTube. Premium is pretty cheap for what it is - happy I made the decision to subscribe years ago

1hr and some change in. I’m loving it so far

I just picked up Sea of Stars earlier today - i’m about a hour in and enjoying myself so far, no complaints. Otherwise, I picked up Pokemon Go in the past week & i’m really enjoying it. It turns out that a lot of my friends are still playing, and the Pokemon Go Plus+ I use for sleep tracking also gets bonuses in Pokemon Sleep if you use it for Go. Now i’m playing both!

Aw, Sunshine is my favorite title, but I can’t find myself disagreeing on the “Odyssey makes it feel clunky” note. The only point of note for me is that Sunshine feels much more open world than Odyssey does. Probably the nostalgia speaking…

Haha, I’m right there with you. I’m off Twitter & Reddit, I had no alternatives until Sync came back…
- Comment on Fediverse now well past 12 Million total daily users 1 year ago:
Exactly. The other end of it is that a lot of the app-specific advanced functionality made the transition for Day 1 - unless Infinity/else has some tricks i’m unaware of, its currently the most customizable/feature complete app - actual tablet modes, foldable support, biometrics for subaccounts, user painting/tagging for sub accounts, profile backups so you can carry customizations to other android devices - etc.
Its all auxiliary & definitely not required, but losing these features made Lemmy a no-go on mobile for me. It’s also missing some real basic stuff like mod tools & the ability to make posts at all, but i’ve used the app for a decade & the dev is quickly pushing fixes/new features out the door.

Fuck yeah. Special shout-out to Sync for Lemmy for reeling me back in as a daily user.
