cod

The cod was believed to be the king of the fish. I hope to live up to the name 🐟

Ah gotcha. Thanks for the info. I’ll look more into them for sure. I appreciate it

I never heard of that before, I’m totally going to check it out. That sounds pretty cool

Duly noted, thanks for the recommendation

Thank you!
Fair enough. I haven’t played many roguelikes before, I suppose I’ll have to get into them. I know there were two you mentioned in your comment, are there any more you’d recommend? Specifically for someone without much experience in the genre

I’ve always wanted to get into chess. I’ve got a friend who’s really good at it, and when my wife was in high school she was in the chess club and was top in the region

We just found out a couple weeks ago that my wife is pregnant with our first child, I suppose I’ll need to start looking for games I can play one-handed

Enjoy! I remember really liking the campaign of Black Ops. I don’t remember the story anymore but I remember it being great

You should give Hollow Knight another shot. It’s seriously such an amazing game. I’ve been thinking of replaying it soon

I feel that. I haven’t played anything in over a week either. I’ve had lots of (good) news that’s quite tiring to deal with, plus work has been busy lately and I have family visiting. All good stuff (except maybe work), but still, I miss playing games

Love that game. Got it as a gift last year, one of my favourites on the console. I mostly play PC but I keep the PS5 plugged in mostly for this game (and I use it as a 4K blu-ray player)

No problem. I was going to post tonight anyway, I’m playing around with days to see what gets the most engagement. I don’t think any one day is better than another by the looks of it though so I might just stick to Wednesdays

I feel you, man, being an adult can suck sometimes. It gets really busy, especially if you have additional responsibilities (partner, pets, kids). Not saying that’s a bad thing, I wouldn’t change anything and am happy with my additional responsibilities, but it does definitely limit the free time

That sounds awesome. Definitely gonna check it out

I agree on the ESO point - I probably only have 20-30 hours in it but it’s been exclusively as single player as I could do. It is a fun game, I quite enjoy it. I should open it again soon

I tried playing Daggerfall a couple years ago but couldn’t get into it. Maybe I should try your method

Oh that sucks, I’ve only ever played it on the 360 on a disc without internet connection.

Oh absolutely, you need at least one truly vanilla playthrough first. Even UESP I wouldn’t recommend until your second or third playthrough, everyone should see Skyrim at its jankiest, it’s sort of a rite of passage.

I’m doing a co-op playthrough of Halo: MCC with a friend. We’re currently on Halo 3. It’s very nostalgic

I always have UESP (Unofficial Elder Scrolls Patch) installed, even for “vanilla” playthroughs. From there, usually graphics mods, there’s tons of good ones. I also like SkyUI, which, as the name suggests, changes the UI. Alternate Start is a must when you get to having many characters (I think I’ve got 60-70 characters). Ordinator changes the perk system in the game, and I sometimes have it on, depending on the playthrough. A Quality World Map is another favourite, as the name implies it changes the map in the game to be much nicer. Beyond Skyrim: Bruma is fantastic, it adds the northern part of Cyrodiil (the place you’re at in Oblivion). RDO adds thousands of new dialogue lines, which is a must when you’re at thousands of hours. Random NPC dialogue gets repetitive after a while. Open Cities is also nice if you have a decent rig, as it removes the loading screens when entering/leaving major walled-off cities. It reminds me of Morrowind that way.
There’s lots more I like that I just can’t think of right now, but they’re mostly gameplay mods. Adding new locations, side quests, characters, that sort of thing. There’s so many dumb mods too which just add stupid shit, those are fun to play around with. A giant (and I mean absolutely massive) cow with NPCs to worship it, turning all dragons into Thomas the tank engine, changing horses to my little pony characters, changing Alduin into Macho Man Randy Savage, and many, many more. There’s seriously so many silly mods that I don’t think anyone could ever get bored.

Mods mostly. The modding scene for Skyrim is nearly infinite

I’ve never actually finished GTA IV before, though I have messed around in it a fair bit. It’s a great game

That still sounds pretty good to me. I’ve never been good at speedrunning, other than one particular level in Hitman 2016

I feel that way about music. My favourite artists all have songs I don’t care for, meanwhile artists where I like every song of theirs are never my absolute favourites

Funny enough, in my 5300 hours I’ve never tried survival mode. It’s relatively new (at least as far as games from 2011 are concerned) so much of my playtime was from before it became an option.
Honestly, I had a lot of free time around 2016-2021 so that helped. It was also one of the only games I played for probably 3-4 years straight

Oh man I loved the Portal games. I’m assuming sub-27 is good, I’m pretty sure my shortest time is like 4 hours or something
