Melon husk is definitely, 100% a bot. Displays all of the hallmarks of bot activity and language, as well as futile attempts to try to disguise itself by small grammatical mistakes. Seen countless accounts like that on reddit.

It is apparently good at making animated media however its format is incompatible with many software media viewers.
It’s the bane of my existence when trying to save an image, but I am also exploring its uses in making animated backgrounds for graphical chat interfaces.
- Comment on Would this extension help folks in the UK with Imgur posts? 6 days ago:
Imgur blocks me on Mullvad like 99% of the time. Not sure about Proton, though.

I was not aware. I’ll give that a try, thanks

There are two things that are keeping me attached to Windows - my PC not supporting 11, and Photoshop. My god, if anyone can get a copy of Photoshop to work with Linux, I will say goodbye to Microsoft immediately.
(Yes, I’ve tried GIMP, Krita, et al. They didn’t click for me.)

I used Anki to study for my Amateur Radio exam. Was very versatile and easy to use. Definitely recommend it.

Jesus, this is scary stuff. Thanks for the link, gonna try my other browsers and devices when I get home.
- Comment on Browser Fingerprinting And Why VPNs Won’t Make You Anonymous 1 week ago:
Ok, cool. It was mainly my ISP I was worried about.
Would be useful for me to find a browser that obfuscated fingerprinting efforts too though.
- Comment on Browser Fingerprinting And Why VPNs Won’t Make You Anonymous 1 week ago:
So my ISP can still detect if I’m going to websites they don’t approve of if I’m using Mullvad as my VPN but using Firefox as my browser?
- Comment on 'Grandma doesn't need slippers': Fox News slammed over Christmas money-saving tip 1 week ago:
So, 5 years ago, Repubs on Fox said during COVID that grandma should be left to succumb to illness for the sake of the economy. And now they’re saying don’t buy your grandma anything for Christmas this year because of the economy.
Don’t these morons realize that the elderly are pretty much their primary viewing audience?

It’s likely trying to shill its AI-generated folk country “music” from what I can discern from its profile.

It’s still very gross that it’s trying to blend in with the rest of us.

Check this accounts comment history. This is an LLM bot and its maker didn’t format its comments correctly. There’s a stray quotation mark at the end of each comment.

I get that but it’s likely due to my CPTSD from a lifetime of being screamed at.

- Comment on Are platforms like reddit just "internet noise" and bots or just genuinely the darkest parts of humanity? 3 weeks ago:
Yes. You can and would stumble across the worst the Internet had to offer on /b/. Hardcore shock porn, CP, gore, extreme animal abuse and torture, etc. Was not a good place to hang out for anyone with a shred of decency. There’s a reason they call it the asshole of the Internet.

- Comment on Are bots on lemmy? 4 weeks ago:
There are still several tells that haven’t completely been ironed out. From years of reading bot comments on reddit, I’m able to discern a bot from a human pretty quickly, so long as I am able to check comment history and time stamps.
They have this weird uncanny valley pattern of speech and it sticks out like a sore thumb when I come across it.
- Comment on Why are people using the "þ" character? 5 weeks ago:
Yep. Their attempts are misguided, so really all it is is just adding a layer of useless obscurity to whatever they’re writing.
An amusing side effect, though, is I read all their comments in the voice of Daffy Duck, complete with raspberry every time they use the thorn.
