I probably won’t be going for commercial use, just hobby stuff mainly. It would be neat to do some nylon stuff but that’s probably as crazy as I’d get.
But yes, ideally my budget is $450-1200 (wide I know, but I’d like to explore my options).

Do you know how well the auto leveling works?

- Comment on How to auto-reboot if CPU load too high? 8 months ago:
Crontab to just auto reboot daily is probably better - if your PC becomes unresponsive I doubt it would be able to execute another script on top of everything. Ideally though, you’d do some log diving and figure out the cause.

What does your mount look like for that nozzle cam?

Internet should be public like many other utilities.

If they eventually do have a search engine, it definitely can’t be trusted. GPT-4 loves to hallucinate.

I haven’t used Google for awhile now. It just became an ad-ridden hellhole.

I’m not sure that there’d be enough voltage to cause a fire.

- Comment on List of 2FA enabled services/websites? 10 months ago:
Gotta love that most banks on there don’t support TOTP or hardware keys. I wish SMS 2fa wasn’t considered.

That’s awesome! Kagi is so worth it.

Friends don’t let friends use Snap.
- Comment on Why can't code be uncompiled? 10 months ago:
You can get close depending on the language by using decompilers. Usually though, they’re rough translations of what the decompiler thinks that the (compiled) machine code does. It’s not a 1:1 deal.
Basically, a compiler translates the human-readable code to machine code that can actually be recognized and executed by your computer. A decompiler attempts to do the opposite, it translates the machine code back into the original language. But like some “translators”, it’s not always correct. That’s the hard part - once decompiled you will likely have a lot of blanks to fill in and bugs to fix before anything will be compilable again. You’ll likely never be able to get an exact copy of the original source code via decompiler.
- Comment on We don't need bluelight filtere 10 months ago:
I’m not sure about the glasses, but I love to crank the orange filter up on all my devices, desktop included. It just feels easier on my eyes I suppose, but I wouldn’t say I do it to help my sleep.
- Comment on How social media’s biggest user protest rocked Reddit 10 months ago:
I modded multiple million user subs, and ended up replacing all of my posts with the same text before never logging in again. Wonder if I’ve been removed from any of them yet.
Side note, my life has improved so much after not doing free work for reddit. The things I’d see everyday… looking back I’d never do it again.

Seems like the definition of advanced persistent threat.
- Comment on First tomato ever grown in space, lost 8 months ago, found by NASA astronauts 11 months ago:
Moghbeli didn’t offer details on where the tomato was found, nor what condition it was in. But it’s probably safe to assume it won’t be featured in a gourmet meal anytime soon.
Another article that doesn’t offer any more details about where it was found. I’m starting to really believe someone ate it!
- Comment on Asking ChatGPT to Repeat Words ‘Forever’ Is Now a Terms of Service Violation 11 months ago:
Is there any punishment for violating TOS? From what I’ve seen it just tells you that and stops the response, but it doesn’t actually do anything to your account.
- Comment on Plex Users Fear New Feature Will Leak Porn Habits to Their Friends and Family 11 months ago:
Is this any different than server admins using Tautulli? I’d assume so, since it’s happening for users with multiple servers.
Privacy issues aside, who is using Plex for porn? There’s many better options tailored to that type of content specifically. I’m not sure what benefit you’d get from using Plex for porn.

To me, it really sounds like Microsoft wanted to poach him. While the board were the ones that originally fired him, I don’t think that would have happened without Microsoft.
