- Comment on Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election? 2 months ago:
For what it’s worth, alot of us see the problem and are doing what we can to help. To stick up for queer folks, to not buy products from places like Walmart, and tell everyone we know to vote for people with empathy.
Greed is good, became the norm.
Conservative folks want to conserve what they have, at any cost. Simple as that. Fuck you, I got mine.

They think we’re cattle, but cattle won’t eat the rich.
I have always told folks that I managed, that I’m nothing without them. Yea, I have a MBA as well, but man, are alot of those business folks short sighted to a fault. Like lack of empathy and foresight.
If your KPI’s are based around having a knowledge worker in a chair in a room, your business should die.
Plain and simple.

How do you like it? I wish they had a MATE version 😢

Nothing, it’s just a touch harder to use? I mean I use it on a old netbook and it works just fine. Did a net install and then loaded LightDM + MATE… Oh … Yeah, there ya go, not quite as easy as Ubuntu. Still amazing for servers.

Ah, neat. Been wanting to add all my peeps on Flickr to it. I’m curious how their “magic” option works. Also might be able to do neat stuff w their API.

I’ve looked at other options as well over they years. I just ended up with Inoreader. You get 150 feeds for free and the interface is amazing. Also works with a ton of different apps.

eBay and look for used Dell servers. I’d go for a Dell R2x0 series for a starter box. Maybe a used Dell Workstation if you want a tower.

Yeah, for business I use both and Slack is quite nice to work with. Everyone forgets the hidden cost of running your own chat server. It’s fine for a hobby, but I’d always have a larger company run critical back end services. They have the time and the money to invest in keeping things working when it matters most.
- Comment on Selfhosted messenger/community software like discord 6 months ago:
Matrix is nice and Mattermost is basically self hosted Slack. Probably better off with Matrix, if you don’t need voice. Mattermost I’d you do. Rocket chat seems nice as well. I’d probably run Matrix and Mumble?
