- Comment on Thoughts on AI coding:
Probably belongs in c/technology and not tech news.
I hope they get sued for it. The code licenses usually don't allow for this without providing credit. Or not at all.
- Comment on That's too little for such a crime !:
Should have used wolfballs.
- Comment on 50k men, women, children protested in Serbia to protect family values against upcoming Europride #monkeyfest #groomerfest:
The worry people have is the kids getting raped.
I don't know how I feel about it. I think its clear one woman, one man is best as its closer to what nature favors. If the normal nuclear family list is exhausted and kids still need homes it seems kinda retarded to not let nice gay couples spend the hundreds of thousands of dollars to raise them. They probably have more of a chance of getting raped in the foster care system tbh.

- Comment on We have to federate with someone other than fucking Wolfballs if we expect this instance to be taken seriously:
Hello, masterofballs here.
You don't need more instances. Most instances have less than four active users.
You need more users.
If there is someone from freeforum you don't like I suggest you block them or the whole community. Do you know how to block communities?
This is absolutely a must if you use Lemmy. Its so easy for one community to drown out a instance. Look at all over at Lemmy.ml its basically only genzedong.
You can also block a community at the instance level. Perhaps alt tech at wolfballs would still be interesting to use but freeforum is to much. Its there for users who dont like censorship. So the content will be edgy. If you guys want a setting to limit a single community from drowning the all category consider opening a issue over at github. I could help implement it if you can describe how you would like it to work and the two main Lemmy devs agree it will be useful..

That is some lobbying by the people who own the plant based protein
- Comment on Don't eat bugs. Chitin is insect exoskeleton. Research points to cancer, inflammation etc from Chitin ingestion...:
Personal Opinion
Don't eat processed bugs. Just like you shouldn't eat poptarts. So no cricket powder. Processed foods have no evolutionary precedent. Instead eat bugs that taste good. Like shrimp or baby wasp. Eating farm raised cock roaches I'm sure will lead to problems because our bodies naturally feel disgust at the sight of them. And there is probably a reason. When I see a wasp nest I don't feel this disgust and I hear they taste good. ( have not tried them myself).
We are grass land pack hunters without hind gut fermentation ability, so the majority of our diet should come from ruminant meat, and maybe some fruit, eggs, honey, and shit you would basically pick up while out hunting grass lands.
- Comment on US Sanctions Tornado Cash, But the Blockchain is Ungovernable:
Yeah git is decentralized. Works fine with just a linux host. Never heard of radicle. I use gitea but have problems with limited upload size but that's a nginx config thing. They are adding federated features.

- Comment on Elections not 'Free and Fair' enough ?:
lol; to be fair I don't think they have said anything about us elections. I'm pretty pro union if they aren't government mandated. It's good tactic to combat monopolies. Which naturally form due to the efficiency of centralization and name recognition. But monopolies create several problems. A union insures that the monopoly will become so inefficient smaller companies can compete. And it isn't easy to form one naturally. People risk their jobs, their lively hood for a voice in how the company runs. I think the right demonizes them a bit to much.
Government mandated unions are just another form of control over people though.

- Comment on White teachers must go first latest teachers union deal:
If that headline is accurate it will either never actually happen or they will be sued so before it happens. There needs to be damages or immediate threat of damages usually to challenge stuff like this in court. But its illegal.

- Comment on Self-hosting email:
No nothing is stopping them but also nothing is really motivating them. Generally people don't code for 1% of users. And those emails are on the sending servers as well. I just think, your data will not be sold to advertisers if you delete them often.
There are better ways of protecting privacy if you are self hosting. like using invidious instead of youtube and share it with others to obfuscate the data. vpns, Using alternative search engines. Alternative twitter front ends. Degoogled phones. Using cash. Just using encrypted chats when ever possible. Not using your name on your email address. The post office in America scans mail and sells that data. bastards.
That said I bet if feels really good to have complete ownership of your email server. If it is pointed to your domain name you can always register your domain name with another email provider. I use a proton mail pro plan and can register my domain name with it.
