And yet Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are treated like pariahs by the royal family. It's interesting how that works.

Sorry to derail but what do people think of air gap or air tube wired headphones? Do you think they are necessary?

- Comment on Sports Illustrated Published Articles by Fake, AI-Generated Writers 11 months ago:
In this case, the magazine created fake journalists with fake bios and used them.in the bylines. I would think that's a kind of fraud and definitely hurts the magazine's trustworthiness. The article goes into other publications that have also used fake journalists with their bylines in AI produced articles. I think if they were more transparent- say, labeling an article "AI created content" - it wouldn't be as much of an issue.
This also doesn't address errors in the AI produced articles (which could be solved by having a real life fair checker or editor).

Am I the only one who likes this song? I even love Last Christmas. I think it's because I don't go into brick and mortar stores often, so I can go a whole season and only hear it a few times. Somehow I hear Father Christmas and Christmas Wrapping way more often.

Wow, this is kind of fascinating. If anything it points to nature over nurture, which I would think your brother would find a relief.

I prefer "content creators. " Sametimes they can be very educational or entertaining. (I watch a lot of comedy, travel, and home workout content.)

It's called "contextual commerce." Article about a product has a link to said product; if you click and make a purchase, the news site makes a little money. Thus, incentivizing the new site to publish more and more articles about products.
- Comment on More Than 80 Percent Of Americans Can’t Afford New Cars 1 year ago:
Are there people out there flipping cars like they do with houses? Maybe tell those people.
I've read if people buying new Teslas (with some kind of credit for buying an EV), driving it for a year or so, selling it for more than they paid and then repeating the process. Not sure if this is a viable strategy anymore (don't know if Tesla has that much demand anymore).
- Comment on New Study: 54% of American Adults Read Below 6th Grade-Levels 1 year ago:
Are you saying that you would be comfortable having US citizens solely rely on others to interpret and explain the Constitution to them? You don't want them to have the ability to read and understand it themselves? Who would those people explaining the Constitution to everyone else be?
In all of your comments on this thread you seem to be arguing that having a seventh grade + reading level serves no purpose. Do you see any value in having a higher than sixth grade reading level as an American citizen?
- Comment on New Study: 54% of American Adults Read Below 6th Grade-Levels 1 year ago:
At least where I live in the US, voters are asked to vote on city or state ballot proposals. These proposals appear on the ballot in a wall of text. They are also usually available online before election day for interested voters to read. These can be very complicated to parse - not only the language and technical terms in the text, but the policy itself and how it might affect different groups of stakeholders in the community and different existing policies and competing proposals. A voter might need to read a lot of news articles and opinion pieces to get the lay of the land on a particular issue. I think having a higher than sixth grade reading level would be more than helpful in understanding an issue and related ballot proposals.

I listen to those stations in my car or on my alarm clock at home. But I suggested those in case you wanted to listen to them. Do you have public radio or college radio available?
- Comment on Phones should have FM radio again 1 year ago:
Whats a good emergency radio with a hand crank that you would recommend?
- Comment on Phones should have FM radio again 1 year ago:
College radio stations. For example, 90.7 WFUV.
- Comment on Phones should have FM radio again 1 year ago:
This is tangential to the conversation but have you heard of Radio Garden? You can listen to radio stations around the world. As for "good radio stations," I'm partial to college radio stations like 90.7 FM in NYC. They have a lot of freedom with their playlists.

It's worth watching - it's very charming.
Fun Fact: The lead actor, Johnny Flynn, is also a singer-songwriter and did the (lovely) theme song for The Detectorists.

Thank you for this (and other horror movie) write ups. I've grown to avoid most horror movies (I've become really sensitive to them aka more chicken), but I do still find them fascinating. And based on your recap and review I am never ever going to see this one.
It sounds like WC was going to excess to make some jaded person deliberately uncomfortable. Like, out-grindhousing grindhouse.
