if I have headphones or speakers or a mouse that aren’t plug and play on Linux which is what I’m used to on windows, I think it’s fair to say that my experience with Linux is less easy than with windows.
If that were the case, i would agree, but I dispute this claim.
Can you tell me specific models of headphones, speakers or mice that are not plug and play in any modern widely used distro? - Comment on Being Trans Isn't Normal or Part of Nature...or is it...? 1 week ago:
Gay and lesbian are not describing gender, but sexual attraction.
Sexual attraction has been traditionally part of the gender identity, as have been other factors like dressing style, hobbies, home and work responsabilities, and a lot more.
Most sexual attraction descriptions are very subjective, because they sometimes describe gender and sometimes sex. - Comment on Firefox Will Ship with an "AI Kill Switch" to Completely Disable all AI Features - 9to5Linux 5 weeks ago:
That’s obviously not what enabled means, at all.
If there is a button visible that executes a function when receiving a click, that feature is enabled.
That does not mean that the feature is actively in use, of course. Enabled and active are different states for a program’s functionality to be.I believe it’s pretty easy to understand, there are people like me who don’t want to have AI functions popping up in our browsers without explicit enabling on our part.
I understand that you disagree, but it is not a difficult position to understand. You don’t need to re-define opt-in and opt-out just because you support Mozilla in adding AI features to Firefox.

In my opinion there is no ambiguity at all.
Opt-in means that the feature is disabled by default and until the user enables it. This is NOT what Firefox will be doing.
Opt-out means that the feature is enabled by default and can be disabled by the user. This is what Firefox will be doing.
Whether the user actually uses or not the feature is not a factor in determining if it is opt-in or opt-out. - Comment on Epic boss Tim Sweeney thinks stores like Steam should stop labelling games as being made with AI: 'It makes no sense,' he says, because 'AI will be involved in nearly all future production 1 month ago:

Yeah, I see, thanks a lot for taking the time to read through the report and write this.
It’s fucking sad but honestly thanks for pointing it out, I hadn’t even read the report. - Comment on Fairphone announces the €599 Fairphone 6, with a 6.31" 120Hz LTPO OLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, and enhanced modularity with 12 swappable parts 6 months ago:
I have no idea, I’m hoping for my F3 to still last a couple of years.
I’m honestly pretty tired of Android, and that’s another can of worms. Maybe I’ll try with a linux phone, but I’m still undecided. - Comment on Fairphone announces the €599 Fairphone 6, with a 6.31" 120Hz LTPO OLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, and enhanced modularity with 12 swappable parts 7 months ago:
People who want a headphone jack […] are unfortunately a very tiny minority of the entire population.
People interested in paying more for fair trade materials and repairable phones are also a very tiny minority of the entire population.
Of course I don’t have any statistic, but I would guess that the proportion of people wanting a Jack is significantly higher in the group of people interested in buying Fairphone tht on the general population. In my particular case, I’m still using my Fairphone 3, and I’m not buying a Fairphone again unless it has a Jack.
