That makes sense.
- Comment on Israel Deploys Semi-Autonomous Machine Gun Robot to Gaza Border 1 year ago:
Someones going to get themselves killed when the robots take over with that kind of talk.
I for one welcome our new mechanical overlord’s.
- Comment on ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Used AI For A Dead Voice Actor’s Performance, With Permission 1 year ago:
Technically, wouldn’t he be the standard voice actor in a CDPR game and the English actor be the localisation?
- Comment on Pressure grows on Apple to open up iMessage 1 year ago:
No, it’s fully possible to have its own account and log in system, but that adds a layer of abstraction that makes it harder to sell to people as a replacement for their inbuilt messaging apps which just require a phone number.
- Comment on Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard deal approved by UK regulators 1 year ago:
I mean, I’ve not been particularly disappointed at how Disney has handled the Fox properties. They’ve had some duds with the Star Wars and Marvel lines, but the stuff that’s come to D+ under the Fox banner, Solar Opposites, all the Simpsons, new Futurama, films like Banshees of Inershirin, Prey, No One Will Save You, etc have all been pretty good.
- Comment on Pressure grows on Apple to open up iMessage 1 year ago:
How else do you think a messaging app that replaces your phones messaging functionality is supposed to work if not on phone numbers?
- Comment on Pressure grows on Apple to open up iMessage 1 year ago:
Meh, I think some people are just paranoid on Lemmy when it comes to stuff like this. There’s plenty of laws in the UK around storage and use of information that protect users of apps like this.

It’s on by default with every convo in WA.
- Comment on Pressure grows on Apple to open up iMessage 1 year ago:
Because that’s how phones work, it links your account to your phone number and uses your contacts to tell you who’s on the app too using their numbers.

While it’s all still E2E encrypted I don’t really care what servers it goes though. If the UK/EU manage to get encryption blocked then I’ll worry.

Hi-Fi Rush by Tango is Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam. And came out during the run you listed above.

Benefits me as an Xbox owning, Gamepass subscribing consumer.
- Comment on Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard deal approved by UK regulators 1 year ago:
All three of them that actually get any focus under ABK at the moment? If anything we might get to see some of the ones usually ignored have a day in the sun if MS wants to diversify their Gamepass offerings. We may get that Tony Hawk’s 3&4 remake rather than Volition being thrown in the CoD mines, a Crash or Spyro game with Rares involvement, etc.
- Comment on Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard deal approved by UK regulators 1 year ago:
Because this won’t give MS a monopoly in the slightest. There’s still tons of Devs and publisher’s out there on various states of first, second and third party relationships with MS, Sony and Nintendo and new indie Devs pop up almost weekly. It gives them a massive advantage having CoD as a first party Gamepass title, yes, but that’s not what a monopoly means.
- Comment on Official Trailer | Star Trek x Kid Cudi: Mirror Mayhem 1 year ago:
This seems like one of the most bizarrely misjudged crossover promotions I think I’ve ever seen.
- Comment on Star Trek: Infinite discussion 1 year ago:
It’s only £25 and if it’s successful then it shows Paramount there’s a market for Trek games beyond the mobile pap we got for years. Same with Resurgence earlier in the year.
- Comment on Star Trek: Infinite discussion 1 year ago:
Played about an hour and a half last night. It seems essentially a glorified Trek themed Stellaris expansion. Which given it was only £25 quid I don’t mind too much.

Top whack android phones aret really cheaper than iPhones these days so it’s not classism as such. Yanks just seem to love to tribalise everything, see masks during Covid as another example. I think it’s a result of having a two party political system.
- Comment on Pressure grows on Apple to open up iMessage 1 year ago:
I message people on iOS from my android all the time, we use WhatsApp and the problem is solved.
- Comment on Pressure grows on Apple to open up iMessage 1 year ago:
It isn’t better, but it’s an extreme example of Americas corporate fanaticism, everywhere else people say “well if Apple and Google don’t play nice together, we’ll use a third party app and skip it all”. In the US they say, “if you don’t have an iPhone that makes you worse than me somehow so this allows me to lord it over you”.
- Comment on Pressure grows on Apple to open up iMessage 1 year ago:
I’ll just carry on using whatapps and people on iPhones can either download it or put up with my different coloured bubbles if they don’t want too. Luckily people in the UK are all mostly on WhatsApp anyway, this who text message colours is a very yank centric problem.
- Comment on Waving Palestinian flag may be a criminal offence, Braverman tells police 1 year ago:
If you want to have a two person conversation, do it in DMs. This is a forum and the conversations are open to all. I’m not classing the whole country as terrorists, I mad another comment further up specifically saying the Palestine flag is not a terrorist symbol. I’m saying that the Jews were given the land legally by the Brits and international community and the Arab nations surrounding immediately attacked them, which is what happened.

- Comment on Waving Palestinian flag may be a criminal offence, Braverman tells police 1 year ago:
How Britain legitimately won the land from the Ottoman Empire, handed it to the Jews and the Arabs were attacking them within hours of the nation forming?
- Comment on Waving Palestinian flag may be a criminal offence, Braverman tells police 1 year ago:
It’s complicated, the Palestinian flag isn’t a terrorist symbol, the Hamas flag is. But hate crimes are based on intention and perception, so driving around a Jewish area waving it right after an attack launched from Gaza is clearly intended to cause distress. Same as sitting outside a Ukrainians house with a Russian flag at the moment.
- Comment on Waving Palestinian flag may be a criminal offence, Braverman tells police 1 year ago:
You don’t think a Hamas flag represents pretty similar sentiment to the Nazi flag at present?
- Comment on Waving Palestinian flag may be a criminal offence, Braverman tells police 1 year ago:
They’ve been trying to clamp down on it since before Braverman was HS.
- Comment on Waving Palestinian flag may be a criminal offence, Braverman tells police 1 year ago:
How often does that realistically happen, there aren’t cars full of Jews doing laps of Whitechapel with Isreali flags when this kicks off, it’s always the other way around.

Was going to say this meme is being used the wrong way around. It should be Rick Berman suggesting sexy Borg and Moore suggesting actually capitalising on the concept of the show then being yeeted.
