Switched about 2-3 months ago thinking it might be difficult or impact me negatively or something but its been easy and great.

uBO Lite.
Not my jam, lacks the power of the original.
- Comment on Reddit is making sitewide protests basically impossible 5 weeks ago:
Reddit is already dead, the corporate AI shell is all that remains amongst some folk who dont realize everyone is a bot or an idiot.
/r/android used to be one of the hottest subs - it’s literally just posts from the same 2 OPs linking to their professional news articles.

If that baby has dry soil for more then one day it’ll let you know. It’ll also let you know if it doesn’t have dry roots for exactly a day. They’re so temperamental. I water mine literally the day after I go “that’s dry” and it never fails.

Remote control over your phone or using a Xbox controller like if it were a console. Back in the day I had an htpc remote but ability to control apps is inconsistent.
For me nothing is more simple then a PC interface. I hate having to scroll using a TV remote it takes so long to do anything and it’s quite limiting in other ways.

Stremio/Plex with a Microsoft keyboard that has a touchpad built in. It’s big but you can get small ones off Amazon for $20
- Comment on Chromecast / Firestick Self Host Replacement 2 months ago:
Same. Seems like overkill when you can see what it can do. But also at that price you can velcro it to the back of your tv and it can literally do anything so have at. I don’t see a lot of better options. I use full computers personally.
- Comment on Chromecast / Firestick Self Host Replacement 2 months ago:
N100 mini PC imo. $150 does everything.

is your demo real? I don’t like AI but this is not characteristically accurate for modern gen-ai.

Getting you to feel like your vote is meaningless is how they win.

How do you think Spotify works?
- Comment on Urban dictionary is more useful than the dictionary 3 months ago:
This is only really true if you’re already educated. Presuming that reading and writing is something that all can do would certainly lead you to believe the dictionary had limited usefulness.
- Comment on Flying cars they said 4 months ago:
Where are you from that you would even phase it as “I’m not in”. I get what you meant but I can see why the AI doesn’t understand. Combined with severe grammar errors even a human could struggle here.
Where I’m from it’s “I’m not home” or “I’m not around”, “I won’t be there”
- Comment on How to make an EV tire that won’t pollute the environment 4 months ago:
Hey man, it’s got nothing to do with them being heavier, it IS about how that weight is distributed differently. You’ve mispoken and now everyone is latched on to something that isn’t true about something that is true.
EV tires are made from different compounds then truck and car tires which causes them to wear ~20% faster.
-
EVs have instant torque delivery, which can put more strain on the tires during acceleration. Therefore, they need EV tires that can handle the increased force and extra weight.
-
Electric vehicles have heavy battery packs, affecting the overall weight distribution. This can impact tire wear, so EV tires are designed to carry and distribute the extra weight effectively.
-
EV tires are engineered to have lower rolling resistance. These tires reduce the energy required to move the vehicle, resulting in better range and longer battery life.
-
Most EVs use regenerative braking systems, which recover energy during braking. EV tires offer better traction and grip, enhancing the effectiveness of regenerative braking.
-
Electric vehicles are generally quieter than traditional ICE vehicles. To complement this characteristic, EV tires are built to reduce road noise and vibrations, providing a quieter and more comfortable ride

- Comment on Server as heating device - how do I do this? 5 months ago:
Unless you can physically separate the heat from the server… This is a bad idea. There’s a reason servers don’t sit in hot humid areas.

- Comment on Raspberry Pi 5 vs Intel N100 mini PC comparison - Features, Benchmarks, and Price 6 months ago:
Pi power consumption is going up too. And x86 keeps coming down. Idle power draw the pi wins you’d get 2x longer idle. But under load if you compared the workoutput to wattage I bet it’s pretty close.
- Comment on Raspberry Pi 5 vs Intel N100 mini PC comparison - Features, Benchmarks, and Price 6 months ago:
Yep, that’s what ‘generally’ and ‘niche’ means. The n100 doesnt have hyper threading so isnt subject to that kind of attack - btw the same attack that AMD has been subject to to many times over and over. Not sure what’s good on ARM curiosity - still interested to know.
- Comment on Raspberry Pi 5 vs Intel N100 mini PC comparison - Features, Benchmarks, and Price 6 months ago:
There’s gotta be a bunch of niche cases why a pi is better - but generally…not.
What usecase is arm based linux and bsd all that important? Outside of arm dev - probably not much.
- Comment on Raspberry Pi 5 vs Intel N100 mini PC comparison - Features, Benchmarks, and Price 6 months ago:
At the ever increasing cost of the pi and how limiting it is, the n100 is a no brainer.

- Comment on ByteDance prefers TikTok shutdown in US if legal options fail, sources say 6 months ago:
If tiktok can be considered owned by the Chinese gov so can facebook en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PRISM theres tons of programs secret and public that shows american tech companies have to obey to the US government demands.
“In 2014, ByteDance established an internal Chinese Communist Party (CCP) committee.[47] The company’s vice president, Zhang Fuping, serves as the company’s CCP Committee Secretary.[48][49]”
This is not a defense of FB or american companies, but rather an indictment of tiktok and an acknowledgement that the degree of CCP involvement in tiktok is not the same as neolib involvement in FB.

Phones didn’t have UFS/USB storage like today. So usually you were using a proprietary cable and software to move files over.
- Comment on Nas’ 'Illmatic' Was the Beginning of the End of the Album 6 months ago:
Man as someone who named themselves Album because i am a fan of Albums as a piece of art - I do NOT agree. Illmatic is one of the best albums ever made, no challenge - but it’s an odd take to try to frame it as one of the last. Super narrow view.
- Comment on The Google One VPN service is heading to the Google graveyard - The Verge 6 months ago:
It makes just as much sense as most popular vpns. The main difference is you know you don’t trust Google. Do you think something like nordvpn is any different? There’s no guarantee for what they’re doing either.
