For the Mastodon users among us, obligatory plug streetpass.social

Might not be the kind of arts and crafts you’re talking about but I mod both !knitting@lemmy.world and !lemmy_stitch@sh.itjust.works, plus there’s !crochet@lemmy.ca , !sewing@lemmy.world and plenty more that would be happy to have you!

Yep you’d expect it to climb significantly once .world upgrades. Basically this update messes with the baseline stat a lot so no reason to celebrate, but also no reason to really be fussed either way as long as we’ve got plenty people here to talk to 👍
- Comment on Peer tube Android app 10 months ago:
Pretty sure most people just use their Mastodon app. I’ve heard decent things about Fedilab as well, haven’t tried that one myself but I hear it has PeerTube support.
The PT devs have just announced they’ll be working on a proper app in 2024 so 🤞

This might be the showerthought that’s given me the most to think about ever. Can’t stop thinking about licking my couch, for a start. Well played OP.

Fatigue mask seems cool, until you’re just spending 7 extra hours a day procrastinating doing the thing you thought you’d use all this extra time to achieve.
The glasses are OP. With them, nobody can even be mad at you for all the procrastination.

- Comment on What are some cool people you follow on other Mastodon and other Fediverse Platforms? 11 months ago:
Figure out what sort of thing you’d like to see, check out the related hashtag feeds. You can follow tags as a good way to get started and follow individual people as and when they pop up with something cool.

‘Bough’ and ‘bow’ are pronounced the same
Except, of course, when “bow” is pronounced “bow” instead.

I seeee! Never heard the finer details of that whole thing (I was young and not super into his stuff anyway). Smart guy though by the sounds of it!

Played through it with my husband, usually on an evening after work, and discovered that no matter how stressed or annoyed you are the Outer Wilds intro / menu is just instant relaxation. Like sliding into a whole other world where everything is going to be ok.

Could’ve picked something easier to pronounce, though.

This was low-key one of the most exciting moments when I actually visited Iceland. First thing we did was stop off at a cash machine and I was giggling like a child at the ISK. Also found a shop called Aurum (the name of the premium in-game currency) so clearly that’s an Icelandic word too although I could never figure out exactly what it means.

Big TOTP community over on Mastodon. We would be very interested in the name of this podcast please.

What kind of printer is it? The more-experienced-than-me folks will probably be able to point you in the direction of specific resources depending what type of printing you’ll be doing.
When we first got into printing I taught my husband the basics of CAD with Fusion360, and after a bit of wrangling with the unintuitive controls he found it pretty easy to use. It’s free for personal use, which is the main draw, but also it makes it easy to share designs with each other. That said I’m sure someone will be along to recommend a FOSS alternative because this is Lemmy after all.
Mainly I just wanted to say welcome to the gang and have fun printing a load of stuff you didn’t even know you needed! :D

No but it wasn’t the same axe you inherited ten seconds after you inherited it, either.

So many people make the same mistake, you are definitely not alone. VERY different games though.
- Comment on Games that my non-gamer girlfriend can watch me playing? 11 months ago:
Until Dawn and all the similar games that came since can be pretty good for this. They are set up with a mode where she could control characters if she wants, but otherwise just playing through the story with you controlling everything and her helping make the decisions is a fun time. Play these with my husband every year as part of our Halloween traditions, you can actually learn a lot about a person by seeing what decisions they go with😅
If it was just the constant violence in TLOU that was her issue these could work, although fair warning if she’d prefer absolutely no violence (or horror) at all then I’m gonna just be a second vote for Outer Wilds instead.
- Comment on Games that my non-gamer girlfriend can watch me playing? 11 months ago:
Outer Wilds, not to be confused with The Outer Worlds!
Great suggestion. Me and my partner “play” a lot of games together where one of us controls but both get to have input and make decisions, and this is a fantastic example.

Without the part where they pull up the drawbridge behind them, hopefully.

I happened to notice an ex-Pebble user in my feed asking for Mastodon help, a couple weeks back. Had never heard of it, but I did some digging, found there was a whole group of them wandering around lost and confused, so reached out and welcomed them and offered help. Honestly they’re very nice people, it seems like Pebble’s whole “thing” was a focus on people being cool to each other so attracted that certain sort of user.
Proud to say I was nominated first post-Pebble member of Pebble club 😎
