I have around 130TB redundant and it wouldn’t equate to Netflix. Though I store in higher quality than most, but you’d need low quality like 720p utilizing h.265 or AV1 to save space to hold all that. Likely anything you download would be h.264 so you’d need to convert all that media too.

Try Simplex on Yunohost. I mean, it’s about as clean/quick as can be iirc. Simplex has the lead in security, but I recall the app stating they couldn’t keep servers funded and are shutting down. So you might need to run your own to be on the safe side.
Signal had privacy problems?? Maybe using Google play notifications? I download the apk to be Google free, works on my lineage OS just fine without micro g.
XMPP, if you’re all within the same ecosystem vs SMS or RCS chat (which only carriers services support), it’ll use OMEMO encryption and is e2e encryption. I host my own instance to have a little extra control. And that’s on top of everything else secure about it. Anyway, I believe you can enable traffic over Tor for XMPP, but I do not have that bc it breaks voice calls.

SimpleX is going away I thought. Any reason you don’t want to use Signal, or setup XMPP/Jabber/Snikket/Prosody, etc.

Why does this start with Meta? What does Meta have to do with it?

IP is fine, they just didn’t buy a domain to point to it.
I’d maybe feel better if there was some sort of repo to show the code.
I personally despise everything moving to browser based, and I intentionally steer everyone in my org to Outlook Classic as well as physical apps where it makes sense. This is all going the way of, “You will own nothing and be happy”.
Like people who don’t want to give up on hard cover books (my wife), there’s something about having the physical copy that feels good. Even though software isn’t physical, I’m more so talking locally installed and perpetually licensed or, better yet, FOSS.

I don’t get it, how tf they gonna stop you on phones that already exist?
A. You can disable any new OS or device updates from Google.
B. You can keep your existing phone on Android 16 or prior (hell, I’m on 12)
C. Use alt OS like Graphene, Lineage, Iodé, /e/OS, CalyxOS (they’re back!!), etc
D. Sign out of Google on your phone, install F-Droid or something from APK package on FF derived browser.
I’m sure on brands new devices with that patch, plus anyone who doesn’t disable the auto updates will be blocked. But no way no how can Google stop us all!! 🖕🖕🏻🖕🏿🖕🏼

Some drives are older. My 8TBs are 2019 enterprise SAS and are meant to be on all day. They don’t get much workout cuz once full they’re not doing a ton of writing. So they’ll last. Lady year picked up several 16TBs before the price jumped. Thankful I pay attention and jumped on it when I did!
I’ve ripped all ~2.5kDVDs, ~1.2k BD, and ~600 4K BD (plus several dozen 3D) I keep pretty high quality copies, strip multi lang or auto tracks and stick to higher DTS or Dolby, strip subtitles, etc.
Crazily, I keep a 2nd “older” 7700K for playing the DVD and BD content for friends and family, I do the better stuff for me and a couple friends who actually care about quality. Now I need to add JF alongside Plex and Emby just bc.

Heck yeah!! Good to know as I have nearing 100TB of storage 😅. Would be nice to shave that down a little!

Do they plan on moving Unifi OS beyond just network? Because we run Access, Protect, Connect and InnerSpace, too… Would be nice to have a PC setup as a controller for the cost of their Dream Machine Pro Max etc.
- Comment on Torrenting behind gluetun on zimaos? 2 months ago:
ZimaOS was a love/hate relationship for me. I setup a i7-7700K, 32GB DDR4, dualc10Gb SFP+, 24-bay SAS with x2 LSI 9300-16i raid cards… Technically that’s only 12 PCIe lanes (8 for x2 cards and 4 for NVMe’s) but ZimaOS, even after paying for the premium upgrade (< 4 drives supported), couldn’t handle large quantity disks with large capacity… I had 10x 8TB drives and 8x 16TB drives, each in raid5 with a hot spare, and Zima would constantly become unresponsive with <50TB of data.
Idk if it was a power issue (850w PSU), raid card, or the OS, but I found myself struggling to keep it usable. I had attempted the arrs stacks but ran into issues. Idk if it was corrupted eventually, but I went back to my old server shell until I can resolve it and make it stable. Lemme tell you, moving 50TB+ across 2x 1GbE is excruciatingly slow… I was so thrilled to be on 10Gb for the short time 😢
