@Herr Irrtum! 🔊 Jenau :) Ich hötte auch nichts dagegen, wenn ich im Alt-Text eingefügte Bildbeschreibungen standardmässig als Teil des Haupttextes der Post lesen kann. Im Grunde ist das aber in Hubzilla fast schon so, der Alt_text wird nur zum grafischen Problem, weil man ihn in einer Bildeinzelansicht über's Bild gelegt wiederfindet, was Teile des Bildes, vor allem am unteren Rand, unsehbar macht.

@wolf Okay, der eigentliche Punkt war aber, daß Du Text auf dem Bild nicht magst - und ich eben auch nicht.
Wenn Hubzilla- oder Friendica-Devs das auf eine sinnvolle Art und Weise mitlesen sollen, dann wird es sicher sinnvoll sein, sich erst einmal auf das dargestellte Problem zu konzentrieren.

@wolf Ja, der Alt-Text ist ja die de facto Bildbeschreibung. Sie sollte eben nicht über dem Bild liegen, denn sonst sieht man das nicht mehr. Darum ging es doch?

@wolf Ja, es ist unideal. Deutlich besser wäre es, die Bildbeschreibung einfach getrennt unter das jeweilige Bild zu setzen.

@Alfred Bühler I am undecided. I should get out of this hosting asap. I haven't the skills to run a VPS or sthg myself, while in fact that almost seems the only option, as no other shared host i ever found offers the features i have atm: unlimited databases, add-on domains, bandwidth, server space, email addresses, ssh access (which i am very bad at), built in terminal in cpanel, git, php version control, cron jobs, mailman, dns control, what have you. It is a very old account model, which i don't think exsist anywhere else today.

But my costs have risen from about 160$ per year to almost 300 within 2 years. Owner have changed. New support is an Indian call centre, not the group of original server admins, who have built this up since 98. Suddenly they treat you like a pig. I am a bit stoophed on where to go from here. European hosting would be great, however none of the ones i looked at can compare well even remotely.

@Alfred Bühler I am running Hubzilla with a Cpanel backend on a shared host. ItÄs helpful, but expensive. A more simple thing allowing for cron jobs, database operations, email & domain operations is definately making things easier for the non SSH-affine...

@Yani Not so what? By the way, if i go to your probably rustified Hubzilla page, then I get nothing for a very long time (upwards of 45 seconds) and then just a white page.

@Hubzilla Support Forum Can't see, what this is good for or what it's supposed to accomplish. Hubzilla runs fine just as it is here, where's the need to rustify this coming from at all?

I guess it is more complicated, than necessary ;)

To me, a block is a block. That means i don't see their content, and they don't see mine.

Whereas a mute would let them see my posts and eventually even let them like & comment, however i wouldn't see any of their posts.

What do you think?
