I loathe AI for multiple, personal reasons;
-
When I need to contact customer support of some sort, there is an AI bot that is no use and there are no real humans, because the AI is cheaper. I won’t get the help I need or it’s too difficult to reach.
-
My mother language is a bit more difficult one and many stores (especially online) are starting to translate everything with AI and that makes the text absolutely incomprehensible. Hard or even impossible to understand even the basic descriptions or the manuals.
-
Browsers have those forced AI-summaries when you try to look for something and those are often both wrong and impossible to turn off. (Or if it’s possible to turn off, they keep turning back on.)
-
People I know are literally believing everything from those summaries and such and are very confidently wrong/misunderstanding whatever basic thing. It’s very annoying. (“Let’s ask STSÄTKEEPEETEE!”)
-
Being parasocial online is becoming frustrating as I have been accused of being an AI bot on multiple occasions just because of the way I write in English. Knowing even basic grammar makes you a bot these days.

I have used Ubuntu in the past for about six months, on an old laptop while I was building, well buying and obtaining parts for my PC. While I do consider returning to Linux, possibly using another distro, there are some things I experienced that I do not wish to deal on daily basis… Occasionally would be fine.
-
Software/aplications work and don’t work, almost as if they had a mind of their own. What fixed them the last time, won’t do anything the next time. Sometimes things just start suddenly working. But what’s for sure, thing won’t ever work when you need them to work. (Classic example; a romantic movie night - food ready, flowers in vase, candles lit, DVD picked, the app don’t work.)
-
This is probably just my Ubuntu experience, but each time you open the computer, there is a new app store AND only one of those works, but never the same one as last time. Delete them? They’ll come back with friends. - 2.1. You need to insert your password if you want to scratch your genitals in the same room as you Personal Computer is.
-
Everything is an user error. (Well yes, most things in life are.) You’re just using the wrong distro, oh that’s just a broken update, you’re just using the wrong aplication… Okay, I change distro and use the recommended apps, yet the problems continue, so I’m again using just the wrong distro, and oh that update was just broken, oh okay I’m using the wrong apps. Again and again. This is aaaaalll just a learning curve.
At this time, what I want from my PC is to work at least 66% of the time. If I want to quickly check something online, I want to be able to do it without fighting for three hours. If I want to just quickly play some games, I want to be able to do it without fighting for another three hours. I know I’m spoiled and demanding for too much.
