I’d use Android Auto + Sandboxed Google Play more if Android Auto allowed NewPipe, OsmAnd and other FOSS apps to be added to the dashboard.

I mean, when it comes to console exclusives, some can’t be beat. Nintendo and Sony have proven that console exclusives still drive sales.

B-bu-buh-buht muh cloud computing, and S3 buckets, and no need for physical, and non-ownership!
This is exactly why I started moving my shit off Proton Drive and into my external hard drive. Yes, the Proton Suite is private and secure, but I want to own my shit.
Also why I’m moving my shit off Bitwarden and onto KeepPass.
Backups are key, Lemmyngs!

Also likely: they just took the investment money and ran, the fucking robber barrons they are.
- Comment on Nintendo Lowers Pricepoint For Digital Versions of Switch 2 Games 1 week ago:
Fair, I also have a Switch 2, and Pokopia looks like tons of fun.
My argument was moreso “I have other options” apart from Nintendo if they ever go the “you will own nothing and you will be happy about it” route, which they seem to be inching towards.
What’s this about me being on a report and shrinkage tho? Genuinely asking.
- Comment on Nintendo Lowers Pricepoint For Digital Versions of Switch 2 Games 1 week ago:
And when they do, mark my words, they’ll raise the price of digital games to $70-80 because “we’re Nintendo, what the fuck are you gonna do about it?”
Well, Ninty, I have a Steam Deck loaded with cracked games, roms of your old shit you refuse to rerelease, PC ports of said roms, fan games, and games I’ve bought theough Steam that will literally last me several generations at this point, and that’s not even counting the games that have yet to release.
Yessir, I have enough PC games to never touch a Nintendo game ever again. And if I ever do feel the urge, there are tons of fan games, ports and roms of Nintendo IP accessible via web browser.

You da freaking GOAT! Thank you for introducing me to this!
- Comment on Newly purchased Vizio TVs now require Walmart accounts to use smart features 1 week ago:
You’d be better off buying a non-smart Samsung commercial TV from eBay and getting a $20 Onn 4K TV Box from Walmart. The latter can be Degoogled and sideloaded with Stremio, Cloudstream, or your streaming app of choice to make it the ultimate privacy-respecting media center.
- Comment on Switch 2 demand appears to be flagging as Nintendo reportedly lowers production 1 week ago:
Any games that do take advantage of the increased performance cost $5-20 extra.
One of the smartest thing Nintendo could have done, and it seemed like they were doing this with BOTW/TOTK was to offer the upgrade for free with NSO Expansion Pak memberships, to increase the value of NSO Expansion Pak, get more people to sign up for NSO Expansion Pak and make the Switch 2 a more viable purchase.
BUT NAAAAAAH, ROTFLMAO, $20 ON TOP OF $70 ANNUALLY ON TOP OF $70 GAMES COMING OUT MONTHLY ON TOP OF A $450-500 CONSOLE + $100 ACCESSORIES IS MOTHERFUCKING CRAZY.
- Comment on Switch 2 demand appears to be flagging as Nintendo reportedly lowers production 1 week ago:
That’s why you buy a Steam Deck instead, pirate Cyberpunk and be able to play it with mods for much better performance than on the Switch 2. Plus, you can pirate a shit ton of other games. Proton on Steam Deck has come a VERY long way.
- Comment on Crunchyroll Data Breach 1 week ago:
Right? Why give my money and valuable sensitive data to a shillionaire company that doesn’t give a shit about my safety when I can anonymously pirate for $Free.99?

Hi, yes, it’s me, I’m one of those bunch of folks who would willingly switch off Google’s Tensor crap modem to ideally a Motorola phone with a Qualcomm modem that can run Graphene.
- Comment on This is Android's new 'advanced flow' for sideloading apps without verification, includes one-day waiting period 2 weeks ago:
What makes you say Degoogled Android might go extinct? Projects like LineageOS and GrapheneOS are still going strong. /e/OS, murenaOS, VollaOS and other similar phones have been coming out of the woodwork recently. I think DeGoogled Android is just getting started.
That is, unless, you mean Google is working hard to close down AOSP so the downstream DeGoogled projects don’t function anymore? Then yeah, I sadly have to agree.

Been rocking one since I bought it new off of eBay a few months ago, and it just works. Bought the latest Samsung soundbar system to pair with it and it also just works.
