- Comment on From millions of dollars to under a grand: The dramatic fall of the NFT 18 hours ago:
Having a currency not backed by a government or different currency is actually something the world could benefit from. Iranian currency was backed by USD, the US caused a shortage of USD there, and their currency value dropped to under 3% of it’s former value. 90 Million people.
That said, I think most of us have only ever used crypto to buy drugs off the internet.
- Comment on Xbox as a platform is officially dead 6 days ago:
Consoles are literally just computers. Install game -> play game. There’s no magic “technical skill” required to do the same thing on a less locked down computer instead.

Yeah, we don’t have time for that. Iranian school girls aren’t just going to turn themselves into chunks of lifeless meat scattered across a wide area.

I mean, do you blame them? The more I look at the world and a lot of it’s leaders and shitsacks, the more I start to suggest nuclear holocaust as the best way forward as well.

Someone really needs to start an eco friendly, low carb, gluten free, vegan burning-at-the-stake materials company.

Yes. Remember when we burned people at the stake? Whatever happened to that? Just live stream a few billionaires and child rapists being slowly burned as an object lesson to the rest and I imagine things would change fairly quickly.

We’re now expected to rent imaginary spaces for our characters to play the game we already purchased in?
Is advocating people be burned at the stake against the ToS here? Because I’m advocating the fuck out of that.
- Comment on Humans' behavior about LLMs is the same as animals with a mirror: they believe there is "another" in there. It's just their reflexion 2 weeks ago:
Neuroscience News isn’t a conspiracy rag. It’s an article summarizing a research paper, which they link to. So many of you don’t bother to read actual research and instead repeat whatever you’ve seen online about how things work. More parrot than the AI.

Except when you leave several LLMs able to communicate with one another they will, on their own, with no instructions, including creating their own unique social norms.

Nah, the aliens are the ones doing the probing. Turns out the lizard people aliens are furries, and they been stuffin his muffin.
