Do you know how common communication was across the world back then vs today?

Call me ignorant if you wish, but unifying communication is very much not one of the ills brought about by imperialism. Not to mention, basic economics and technological advancement did A LOT of the work, too. Much like how we now have unified time zones around the world. That wasn’t imperialism. That was economics (as much as global economics can be unentangled from the imperialism that accelerated it, anyways).

A golden age … where people couldn’t communicate across vast regions without scholarly levels of knowledge…

We really need to reconsider what we’re calling a, “golden age”…

Some manufacturers made all sorts of different codes for instructions between various models of tv and remote. That includes some different TVs only sharing an ’on’ or ’off’ code and not the other.

It’s why many ‘universal’ remotes will tell you in the instructions to keep trying different numbers for the manufacturer until all features work. So… you’ll have to do that. Try all Toshiba TV codes that remote knows. If none of them support all features, hopefully you can tweak button by button!

Eh… IMO there’s a big difference between disagreeing about something reasonable, and disagreeing about the most basic tenets of what makes a community a community.

In addition to what others have said, this is definitely a failure of temperature control. Only some filaments will do more than turn liquid at temperatures that your print head should be seeing. (eg: PLA with hours of heat exposure)

If you never clean your print head (I always wire brush a nozzle before each print), it could just be buildup. Otherwise, I would take some time to check on what your printer thinks of a given temperature.

I’ve had to replace thermistors twice in the last 12+ years on my oldest printer (TAZ 6). Usually, it fails by being too cold and clogging. Though it has several times gotten too hot and produced similar results when it was going out or otherwise not thermally coupled well enough to the heating block. Rarely, it can be a connection issue between the controller and the thermistor.

Don’t be shocked if you have a few things to check and lock down before you solve the problem.
