you know what? I think we should all start dropping nuclear bobs so we can become desensitized to nuclear warfare the same way we have become desensitized to genocides and pedophilia.

You should see how AI is being deployed in warfare. Plausible deniability is about to go through the roof.
Back in the day, you get out jail free card was on a scale of “the devil made me do it” to “I was following orders”, now we get “It was AI”

Bold of you to assume the oligarchs will starve when they can always print money out of thin air while the rest of us pay for it in inflation.

…XFBS format nothing can read… for now. At the rate Microsoft recycles their staff, we will have some of them out in the wild one day with the full work around to reformat this abomination.

- Comment on "Game preservation only works if people care" As GOG doubles down on its commitment to saving old games, it's asking players "who give a s**t" to support its crusade 4 weeks ago:
Old games rock. I recently played Prince of Persia; Warrior Within and there was no console update, game patch to download, daily login reward, update centre telling me updates I may have missed. None of that crap. Power-on, loading scree, game time, done!
Modern games are designed like a full-time job that you pay to work for the company.

You can use “pg up” and “pg dn” to scroll. That’s what I use and it also helps that my laptop has a touchscreen so I have no complaints about scrolling around my work in LibreOffice

you can get a dedicated PDF viewer. I use my system PDF viewer and it works better than Adobe PDF I have been using for ages. This one actually makes reading PDFs bearable in the dark
- Comment on LibreOffice blasts 'fake open source' OnlyOffice for working with Microsoft to lock users in 4 weeks ago:
Good. Those that want it can enable it. I don’t. Takes up too much screen space showing a lot of unnecessary icons
- Comment on LibreOffice blasts 'fake open source' OnlyOffice for working with Microsoft to lock users in 4 weeks ago:
I honestly prefer the classic LibreOffice UI. The ribbon thing takes up a lot of screen space and i really didn’t like it when it debuted in Office 2007. Microsoft changed the color to blue so it could be more fancy. LibreOffice is the best
- Comment on LibreOffice blasts 'fake open source' OnlyOffice for working with Microsoft to lock users in 4 weeks ago:
that’s why you should use LibreOffice
