- Comment on What to do with a 10-year-old Macbook Air? 1 week ago:
Yep! It’s just a laptop, nothing different about it. I’ve installed Ubuntu and Windows alongside MacOS on my 2015 MacBook Pro.
- Comment on What to do with a 10-year-old Macbook Air? 1 week ago:
You should install Debian on the laptop instead of running it though a VM. Or a friendlier Debian-based distro like Mint. I don’t know if that’ll fix that issue specifically but it’s generally easier to debug and handle network issues when it’s not running through a VM. At the very least, you’ll get a more lightweight OS and learn lots!

What operating system are you trying to run on the VM?

He doesn’t say that they’re good quality. Just, once in a lifetime quality. Interpretation is up the reader.

Ah, a non-alcoholic foul liquid makes sense to me. The post originally said alcoholic but the post has been since edited.

So your brother’s solution to the drinking problem, is that every time he thinks of drinking alcohol, he drinks a little bit of alcohol?
- Comment on Remaster of the legendary Defender of the Crown game is being developed by a Ukrainian studio 2 weeks ago:
This was the only game that we had for a Gameboy that was given to us. It was well played but not well loved. Trying to conquer the board was impossibly difficult and the “rescue the princess” swordfight missions could be beat by holding right and pressing “BBBBBBA” repeatedly. The jousting was fun though. I had no idea it was based on an older game.

I hope we don’t see that in Canada. We definitely looked that way last election but the yellow party had a pretty weak showing and the red party took a lot of votes to prevent the blue party from winning. Hopefully things reset a bit next election.

An i7 4970K (DDR3) or similar CPU can actually be decent in 2026 for gaming.

I remember having to remove the battery of one of my phones to change the SIM card. It was particularly annoying because that phone/SIM had issues registering so I would have to reinsert the SIM card a few times and reboot each time.

Looks like they’ve lifted the subscription requirement for free to play games.

Still need a subscription fee to play online, most likely.

If you have all the pieces still and they’re not broken into tiny pieces then superglue would be your best bet. Get some that is good for ceramic and have a bottle with a fine tip. I just bought some cheap Amazon stuff to do some ceramic repair. Unlike the smooth outside of the cup, the surface of the cracked pieces are rough and porus and makes a great surface for gluing.

This process is generally not lethal. They are returned to nature once this process is completed, although some do die in the process. Also I’m no expert but those containers might be a collection of multiple crab’s worth of blood.
Not trying to defend or attack this process.

- Comment on Earbugld question: Does anyone actually like to silicone tipped earbuds over the solid plastic ones? 5 weeks ago:
Silicone tipped are so much better. They’re easier to clean, they’re more comfortable, and they block out outside noise much better.

Heavy snow is still great as an adult. It’s beautiful and quiet and peaceful. And things like snowboarding and donuts in empty parking lots are fun too.
