99.999% is about 5 minutes and 16 seconds of downtime per year.
12 services down perfectly sequentially works out to 76 minutes per year, not 2hours per week.
Not saying there aren’t applications where that can’t be catastrophic, but you’re scale is off for three 9 downtime.

In the long run, electric vehicles can displace the oil that is refined into fuel for the internal combustion engine
Active and public transportation can just displace a bunch of gas consumers.

I would think capacitors would be better than batteries are grid scale? Particularly for the buffering you mention.

One of my hard drives started randomly disconnecting.
I tried all the cables, but got nothing. I don’t have time to fix it before leaving for work, so I’ve set up a rightly reset and I’ll hope for the best. Angry family texts incoming!
