I’m curious, what was your old cult?

Hehehe that was funny.
- Comment on Is there a culture/country that doesn't have sarcasm in its language? 1 week ago:
That’s funny! Hopefully the sarcasm isn’t causing psychological damage.

Goddamnit you’re right, another fact that i missed, besides being misunderstood IRL with English speakers too. They’re everywhere!
- Comment on Is there a culture/country that doesn't have sarcasm in its language? 1 week ago:
Someone commented that his sarcasm was lost with, mostly, religious folks in Oklahoma, and I realized that yes it happened to me too plenty of times (but not in Oklahoma). So yeah, even in English it can be elusive to some people.

It’s a complicated relationship, I can relate with the relationship between US people and Canadians.

You know what, you’re right about that. There are plenty of times my sarcasm wasn’t caught by north Americans. That slipped my mind. Interesting 🤔.

It’s a tough one, I don’t envy you. I really wish you well.

Well said. Just to add, unfortunately, most of the world just laughs at the US and thinks lowly of you. Wishing you all the best in your fight against this corporate country.

From what I’ve learned from memes is that there is “enmity” between Swedes and Finns, am I correct?
- Comment on Is there a culture/country that doesn't have sarcasm in its language? 1 week ago:
Wow this is interesting, I never heard of this. I’m going to have to spend some time learning about it.

- Comment on Is there a culture/country that doesn't have sarcasm in its language? 1 week ago:
Can you explain please?
- Comment on Is there a culture/country that doesn't have sarcasm in its language? 1 week ago:
So sarcasm would exist but not the way we understand it, does it mean that sarcasm is an intrinsic part of human nature?
- Comment on Is there a culture/country that doesn't have sarcasm in its language? 1 week ago:
I didn’t know that they used politeness that way. Interesting. Crazy enough I have not yet interacted with a Japanese person in my life.
- Comment on Is there a culture/country that doesn't have sarcasm in its language? 1 week ago:
I just did a quick research on tonal languages, it’s quite tricky for a beginner to grasp these subtle expressions. Imagine a life without sarcasm. Brutal. I wonder if they have their own way of conveying it.
- Comment on Is there a culture/country that doesn't have sarcasm in its language? 1 week ago:
True, otherwise it would be monotone, though some people speak in a monotone voice that can put you to sleep.

I second this. If you get a response can you please let me know?
- Comment on What are we being distracted from? 1 week ago:
Climate catastrophe that will cause mass extinctions. This is my guess. Between Epstein and the wars going on around the world, nuclear powers, rising fascism, AI, and others, they are all distractions from this looming catastrophe coming.
- Comment on Is anyone else having a hard time sympathizing with Americans? 3 weeks ago:
Personally I always side with the oppressed, no matter what race, color, or religion. But will never side with fascists, Magas, zionists, capitalists, or the elite. I am on the side of anyone who fights these evils. On the other hand the US needs a lesson in humility, because it’s been acting like it’s better and above all other countries long enough. This civil war will hopefully destroy the country from within, which many suspect was paid by the Russians to have trump detroy it this way. Good luck to the good US citizens fighting against fascism.

I appreciate your answer, but to be honest I can’t claim I understood everything that you mentioned. I did a quick search but I need some time to delve into that to understand how it works and connects. At first glance it seems interesting and evolutionary, hopefully I can understand it. Thanks again.

I know it’s not everyone it’s just for dramatic effect. Are you talking about the lemmy project? Can you tell me more if you don’t mind?
- Comment on [deleted] 3 weeks ago:
I think everyone here has been banned from there. I joined like a month ago, I think? I had three accounts taken down because of ridiculous reasons just like most people. Kind of like people in jail keep saying “I’m innocent, i didn’t do nothing”. Anyway, i like it here, it’s low-key, not too overwhelming and cluttered like the other one. People are friendlier. So stick around. Also, why are you so freaking out and feeling ashamed or guilty of what happened?
