You know that trope where there’s an amalgam big bad of all kinds of crap thrown together with something ironic in the center controlling it all? Someone ought to do that but it’s just an inkjet printer.

That would be my bet, LLMs really gravitate towards playing along and continuing whatever’s already written. And Gemini especially has a 1M long context so it could be going back for a book’s worth of text and reinforcing it up the wazoo.
That said, there is something really unhinged about Google’s Gemma series even in short conversations and I see the big version is no better. Something’s not quite right with their RLHF dataset.

Psychotherapists are conceptually like if your car broke down constantly and every mechanic told you they don’t know what’s wrong so you went to get a degree in mechanical engineering so you can do it yourself. It didn’t help, but you still have the degree now so might as well put it to use now lol.

Given how many places here in Europe have had several names throughout history depending on who occupied the territory at the time, the standard seems to be “me and this army”.

Saw this blog post recently about waymo’s sim setup and they really do seem to be generating pretty much everything in existence. The level of generalization on the model they seem to be using is either extremely low or they abort immediately at the earliest sign of low perplexity.

Yeah I’ve heard of that, but so far it’s just rumours. Hopefully it ends up being something reasonable.

I’d get on graphene in a second if they supported more than one phone, and I’m not buying a damn pixel alright.

There’s a solution here you’re not seeing… RGB lights. Setting the hue on the fly to match what I need has been pretty neat. Pure white for work, natural white for relaxing, red only for venting in the summer since insects can’t see it, green and blue for dance nights…
- Comment on TRIMUI Brick Hammer, a weirdly named but beautiful handheld 5 weeks ago:
Yeah it depends on how much you’d use it I guess. I remember playing some old titles on a GBA emulator app back during highschool breaks, but it kinda got old quickly. Would be pointless to buy something specifically for it unless you’re really into it.

If it can do it with just that then it’s sensible to have less, since idling memory will use power and the less you have the longer the battery will last.
