- Comment on Why do all night show hosts sit and have their desk to the left of the interviewee? 2 weeks ago:
Probably because that’s how The Tonight Show Starting Johnny Carson was set up, and subsequent late night talk shows have generally emulated its style and setup.

Yep. Region-locking is still a thing with video games.

There are whole ecosystems we’ve basically never sampled.
This drives me crazy. Along with the fact that we’ll probably never know about the various colors and fleshy structures that these animals had.
- Comment on 80s and 90s commercials... they just hit different, don't they? 2 weeks ago:
Combined with a healthy dose of survivorship bias. We forgot all the ones that were bad or unremarkable.

The purpose of life is for the universe to experience itself.
- Comment on Aside from possible allergy concerns, what's stopping people from grinding all the food waste into a mixed paste? 3 weeks ago:
Cause that sounds nasty.

Zucchini is easy to grow and yields a lot, so it’s very popular for people who have vegetable gardens. Probably 90 percent of people growing food in North America are growing tomatoes, zucchini, and/or herbs.

I’m sick of the word “spicy” referring to anything but food.
- Comment on How do Superheroes or villians get their suits on is there like a magical zipper or something? Or how do they do it? 3 weeks ago:
However the plot needs them to.
- Comment on What is your take on organ donation? 3 weeks ago:
I think people should be able to decide what happens to their remains after they die. I’m fine with automatic registration and the ability to opt out.
- Comment on What is your take on organ donation? 3 weeks ago:
Opt-out is the best way. Greatly increases the supply of available organs but allows people not to participate if they don’t want to.

Least unhinged rawdawg comic.
- Comment on Why are people so rude on Reddit compared to the Fediverse? 4 weeks ago:
I think it has to do with community size. Even on reddit, the smaller and more insular communities are much more pleasant than the frontpage ones.

I don’t think I would like that feeling.
- Comment on Which faction you expect to be antagonist in some next Star Trek story? 4 weeks ago:
I’m still planning on getting around to this, seen some clips of Paul Giamatti and he looks great as usual.

I just want something new and original. No more nostalgia bait, no more member berries. Can you imagine if TNG never introduced the Borg and just stuck with Romulans? Even when they didn’t nail it right away with the Ferengi, the franchise stuck with it and ended up giving us a pretty interesting culture with some of the best characters and stories in DS9.
No one wants to take risks anymore, makes me sad.

Corporations don’t care about that. They will more than gladly sell you a “down with corporations” t-shirt.

Have you played survival mode? It’s a little annoying at first, but now that I’ve gotten into it it feels so natural and I almost can’t play on normal.
Also, Red Dead Redemption 2.
- Comment on (serious) What would we be losing in a world where most people didn't own a car? Please read the OP before posting. 5 weeks ago:
Road trips. The ability to visit National Parks.
You included hauling cargo, which opens up a whole new can of worms. Moving would be impossible. As would stocking stores and businesses, as there would be no last mile options for freight. Unless we’re including horse-drawn wagons.

Really though. It’s crazy how much high is at your fingertips these days. Back in the day you had to buy weed and usually roll it into a joint or blunt, or at the very least pack it into a bowl. And either way it was getting smoked. Maybe you had a brownie once in a while if someone you knew was making them.
