I am aware of the sarcasm in the OP. I get it. My reaction to it was “no, yeah, but people genuinely are getting dumber very fast.” It’s noticeable. We have functionally illiterate college freshman now.

A thing I’ve noticed on the Fediverse is obvious virtue-signaling dog piling with a twist: logic is also a virtue people want to signal. But people are increasingly incapable of genuine reasoning. So they try to ape logic anyway. They go through the motions of what they think reasoning looks like. It’s like watching a 6 year old try to use big words to sound smart. And they get validated for it, because the conclusions they started with align with the social group. It’s painful to see.

That would depend on users following the tagging system. If Imgur is any indication, political posters will purposely not do that, because they think it’s their god-given mission to “spread awareness.”

“Say it in a way politicians can hear” means bribes. You got politician bribe money sitting around? I don’t.

Old Google was the tits. Even five years ago Google would be hyper advanced technology today.

what are you trying to use AI for that you are feeling modern models are deficient in?
Giving correct answers more than half the time.

Never considered self-hosting search. How does your LLM compare to the public ones?

Yeah, that’s probably the case. But hell, the bots are working. They got me second-guessing myself and wondering if I just haven’t seen the “good” AI that the elites are keeping for themselves.

Right? I know this is a conspiracy theory for which I have no evidence. It just makes too much sense to me to not believe it.
