“fast” follower? Are we talking about the same apple who just released 2006’s windows Vista aero theme as a new design in 2025?

No but seriously, what are you talking about?

This is lemmy, the expectation is you are so out of touch with reality you think a US-hosted service won’t get fucked over in a heartbeat by the US government.

But it doesn’t, so everything will be fine.

You windows is causing the ram issue? Come on, you can’t blame every bad sw in existence on them. Have you seen chrome?

Tbh the rest isn’t worth responding to. Emotional connections? Come on, you’re a horny bag of chemical soup.

I don’t spend time working with LLMs. I’d agree we have additional features. For example I think while the computers currently can guess, we can guess and check in a meaningful way. But that’s not what the meme was about. I would argue the meme was barely about anything other than “ai bad, me smort”. Ironic since the LLM could probably make a better one.

Of course I do, that doesn’t mean we understand it.

The thing in the right is also a glorified prediction engine. I suppose whoever made this is steeped in religious dogma but humans aren’t that advanced either.

The Australian “no” is the only English word with all vowels in it. I learned this from Yvonne strahovski. She good teacher.

And those companies’ policies cascade out because of the incestuous nature of company boards. Some dumbass who is C__ at one company and member of the board at another says you gotta do the same to be compliant and since it’s all theater they comply rather than push back. Corporations are dumb.

This is the world in which we live. Firefox and google are the only folks who can fix it. Whether it’s killing tabs more aggressively or something else, they have the power in their hands. They just don’t want to (documented, in writingl

If there’s one thing corporate IT is good at it’s bullshit and security theater. Can they stop corporate espionage? Of course not. Can they make it really annoying for employees to access data they need for their job: ✅

Guys this is good news, maybe google and mozilla will figure it out and stop making their applications the biggest ram hogs in human history, taking more ram to render a document than it takes to render a AAA game.
Jk

True, it’s just that there doesn’t seem to be a diagnostic for like, what’s the level of selectivity. For example the wiki says they have people go through a list of common foods and ask if you won’t eat it.
I personally am weird about food so I can readily see why this wouldn’t work well for someone like me. If you asked me “do you eat onions” I’d say no, but of course onion powder is fine and heavily caramelized onions are fine (think french onion soup), but I find shoving raw or undercooked onions in salad for example to be absolutely disgusting and I don’t know why people would do that. So I have a lot of rules, but the rules are specific preferences based on the specific, prepared item.
In contrast I also won’t eat any form of oysters or mussels or anything like that because I just find them to be gross creatures which is probably more akin to the neophobia thing. I’ve never had them and have no intention of doing so.
But push comes to shove this is really just: I don’t like one uncommon food and I don’t like some forms of onions. Which isn’t that restrictive. I know many people who call me picky, I just call it knowing what I won’t eat.
- Comment on Some people prefer corn for some ungodly reason 2 weeks ago:
Right…so it’s not defined. I don’t know the practical difference between “there is no definitions for this” and “there are so many different meanings that just saying picky eater is meaningless”.
- Comment on Some people prefer corn for some ungodly reason 2 weeks ago:
Ok, so it’s undefined
