- Comment on Is gold investing a scam? 3 days ago:
Gold is only as valuable as people deem it to be. It’s a solid investment because it doesn’t suffer from things like inflation or short sellers. Gold is like a treasury bill in that you’re not going to make a bunch of money short term, but you can be relatively sure you won’t lose you investment long term. I heard something about a decade ago which still holds true: as long ago as the Roman empire, an ounce of gold was worth enough money to get you a top quality outfit including top quality sandals (shoes) and still leave enough for you to get a top quality meal. Will you get those things with gold in an apocalyptic situation? Nah, but assuming human civilization continues to survive, you can expect the value of gold relative to products and services to stay strong while currencies lose value.

FACT FOCUS: Trump is a demented idiot. Some people are afraid to say it, and everyone else is investing on the US economy failing.
- Comment on U.S. consumers are so fucked up, that they put more than $1 billion on buy-now, pay later services during Cyber Monday 6 days ago:
I mean, even if it was 1 in 10 people that would still be like 30 bucks each. Most of those buy now pay later plans are interest free anyway.

- Comment on Elon Musk Had Grok Rewrite Wikipedia. It Calls Hitler “The Führer.” 1 week ago:
He loved being the left’s guy, but then the federal government started investigating his companies and he realized that he needed Trump to keep him out of trouble. He literally said in an interview that if Harris won, “I’m fucked.” Now that he’s aligned with the most hated administration in history, he’s holing up and keeping quiet. He got what he needed, and I’m assuming that now he’s hoping we’ll all forget and he’ll cozy up to the Democrats if they ever regain power.
- Comment on Elon Musk Had Grok Rewrite Wikipedia. It Calls Hitler “The Führer.” 2 weeks ago:
I did know that. But I think you give him more credit of self-awareness than he has. Elon Musk is a vacuous ego with a lot of money. I don’t believe he has the depth of mind to actually hold any political ideology, for good or ill. I think he is singularly focused on being the Best Boy, and will ape anything that helps him feel that way.
- Comment on Elon Musk Had Grok Rewrite Wikipedia. It Calls Hitler “The Führer.” 2 weeks ago:
He’s just an edgelord. He thinks he’s funny and edgy and everyone wants to be his friend. Inside he’s a scared little boy who wants his daddy to love him but his daddy is a nazi who hates him.
- Comment on The ancient Greeks or Chinese should have already had words for this. 2 weeks ago:
Definitely that for me. I can force my brain to remember that the apple in question is red, but then my brain will question WHAT EXACTLY IS RED? AND IF RED WHICH RED??? AND SHOULDN’T THERE BE SOME GREEN IN THERE TOO? HOW MUCH? OH WAIT NOW YOUR APPLE IS GREEN. NO, THAT’S NOT WHAT YOU WANTED. APPLES HATE US! and now all of a sudden I’m focusing on a rotten apple core and my ADHD is working out what it would take to turn that apple core into a sapling and how long will it take to make a fruiting apple tree from those seeds? And now my boss is asking me what tf have I accomplished since 8am this morning
…and I can tell you the one thing I DIDN’T do this morning was draw an apple because how do you get 10,000 shades of color from red and black pencils?

- Comment on Baby boomers want to axe property taxes. Millennials and Gen Z would pay for it. 3 weeks ago:
Well… hoarding all of the generational wealth and then crying about the taxes being to high for you to keep it isn’t really the right thing to do either. We’re on the same side of the argument, but that won’t make anything change.

That brings in the discussion of zoning reform which these very same people would never support.

Considering that they don’t notice until the trashcans land, that’s not a valid question. And obviously they’re not all looking in your direction when you yeet the trashcan, so again, invalid question.
- Comment on How bad is it really to listen to music with headphones? My mom told me if I keep doing that I'd go deaf... Is that fearmongering? 3 weeks ago:
Complete fear mongering. If you listen to any sound too loud from any source you can get hearing damage, but there’s no reason you need to listen to music too loud with headphones. To the contrary since headphones help block outside sounds (especially with modern noise cancelling headphones,) you can actually turn the music down and hear it just fine.
- Comment on Years later, Arkane’s Dishonored is still a modern stealth classic 3 weeks ago:
I wanted that game to have good stealth mechanics, but it honestly didn’t. Start up the game, stealth into some shadows. Find a trash can, throw it 50’+ away from you and watch as every enemy within earshot runs directly at you.

- Comment on Elon Musk says Optimus will 'eliminate poverty' in speech after his $1 trillion pay package was approved 4 weeks ago:
This is what makes me sad every day. I’d love to be so rich money is just water out of a faucet to me, but at that point why not just do good? Like, even in a selfish way? If you’re so fucking rich that you can change the fates of nations, why not do it just out of hubris and the desire to be put in the history books? "CaptainBlinky, who was known as a relentless capitalist, died having given his 200 billion dollars in wealth before he died to solve homelessness in the nation and will be known forever as the “homemaker.” Like, why would you NOT do some sh like that? It boggles.

LMAO! My friend, he’s just saying it so he can get the government to buy a bunch of robots so he can meet the Tesla pay agreement requirements and become a trillionaire. There are so many reasons what your fantasy can’t and won’t happen.

I don’t know if you’re aware, but pubs have been around for literally thousands of years. Google tells me that "The oldest known pub in England is a contested title, but The Old Ferry Boat Inn in Cambridgeshire is often cited, with claims of serving drinks since (560) AD. "
I’m sure there were a lot of alcoholics to frequent the place over the past 1500 years or so, but I’m willing to bet that there were a lot of other people who just wanted a meal and a good conversation most days.

Fair, but what I’m saying is that it’s not only worth the price but I’d pay more having played it. 60 bucks? Probably not because I know I’m not that into extraction shooters, but it doesn’t feel like a discount game. Also, I was in my cups when I typed that.
- Comment on 1 month ago:

- Comment on 1 month ago:
I just picked it up to play with a couple buds, and it’s GOOD. $39.99 good? No, just good. The vibe is great, the gunplay feels good, the extraction is forgiving. Definitely worth the price in my opinion.

Less weed? If not that, you’re probably staying up too late at night. Go to bed earlier than you have been. Get off the screens at least an hour before you want to to go sleep.
