Interesting point. I can see it going both ways. They are fundamentally broken inside with greed and selfishness, but also obsessed with immortality and legacy like you said, so maybe a little of both?
- Comment on Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Sam Altman among billionaires investing in 'Freedom City' to be built on Greenland 15 hours ago:
I don’t think climate change is the primary driver, since they won’t even be alive to see the worst affects of it. Don’t get me wrong it’s going to make everything worse even within 10 years, but it’s not turning Greenland into some habitable, farmable landmass in the span of these technofascists’ lifetimes. God I hate this.
People should read The Ministry for the Future to learn how they dealt with climate criminals as more and more people suffered and died due to climate change in the mid-future.

OHHH this all makes sense suddenly. Curtis fucking Yarvin the dweeb-villain himself is behind this. Everyone should be aware of the technofeudalist plan to destroy America as we know it and turn it into a network state with monarch-like ultra-authoritarian “CEOs” of each country. Oh and btw Peter Thiel is fully bought into this (there are dozens of verified comms between them), and Thiel owns Vance. So when Trump dies, this is their ultimate plan.
Check out Prospera in Honduras, one early example of these states.

In reality, probably not. Of all MAGA who say that, maybe 20% of them actually end up leaving, maybe.
- Comment on Well we certainly aren't talking about the Epstein files. 5 days ago:
That’s actually not true. I’ve seen a significant portion of MAGA say that if there was some irrefutable proof Trump raped kids then they would split. Now, the term “irrefutable” is doing some heavy lifting, as they would probably say it’s AI or something, but that is what a lot have been saying.
There’s still a frighteningly large portion of MAGA that would stick with him even if proven he raped 100 kids and murdered a baby (or gave the order to).

lol that day is coming sooner than you’d think, I think 10 years is being generous tbh
You should learn a highly niche specialization within SWE if you don’t already have one (that’s what I have). That will be overtaken by AI too, but it’ll give you more runway at least.
- Comment on Ubisoft Closes Canadian Studio After It Unionizes 6 days ago:
Just making the distinction that both blue and white collar workers are all still the working class generally. Colloquially, “working class” can be used more to mean blue collar workers, but in my context I mean anyone not in the capital ownership class.
- Comment on Ubisoft Closes Canadian Studio After It Unionizes 6 days ago:
Yes in reality, like 90% of people are working class, but I just wanted to make that designation for anyone reading it and going “software engineers aren’t working class”. I mean it in the more general working class vs capital owners.
- Comment on Ubisoft Closes Canadian Studio After It Unionizes 6 days ago:
Capital would rather burn everything down than lose a penny to the working class. Yes in this example, highly paid developers are considered working class relative to billionaire owners

What an interesting, novel idea that has never been tried before and surely hasn’t been bashed by those exact people for the last 10 years. You see, this is different from DEI because it excludes brown and queer people. Who would’ve thought that it was always about just pushing down brown and queer people? WHO?

The scientific journal industrial complex is one of the highest profit margins in the world. It’s consistently at like 30-60% pure profit. Obviously not all journals are the same, some are reasonable, but some are insane. LOOKING AT YOU ELSEVIER

Yeah of course. If you want to get into it, fuck corporate Dems, 98% of Republicans, American Petroleum Institute, Heritage, Cato, Koch, every single private equity firm, the board members and executives at most major corporations, the Murdochs, etc. The list goes on…

Fuck man, every time I read about this fascist I get sad because this is what Trump, Bannon, and Miller (at a minimum) should be doing now. Fuck Merrick Garland.

Another perfect representation of small government, “don’t tread on me” governing. Totally not the slimiest hypocritical corporate-bootlicking behavior that Republicans are known for, definitely not.

Trump and all House Republicans (except for maybe 3-4) can get fucked. Why do they think they don’t need to negotiate and hold hostage the healthcare and food of the entire American populace?
As they’ve literally said about themselves: “We are all domestic terrorists.” They’re acting as domestic terrorists right now and millions will die because of less than 300 people.
