if you want to actually rethink your network stack, then use reticulum, and ifnyou just mean use TCP/IP but change stuff that’s around it then well idk.

- Comment on Mommy, Why is There a Server in the House? 2 weeks ago:
ok who the heck uses windows servers? I don’t think even microsoft does.
- Comment on How To Use PeerTube for Podcasting 2 weeks ago:
I perfectly agree, RSS has always worked, and is federated, in a better way than even activitypub, as pretty much each podcast is on the servers of the owners, and that the clients do the aggregation.
- Comment on TIL about Android Translation Layer (ATL), a way to port Android apps to Linux Mobile 2 weeks ago:
what about waydroid? I’m thinking of installing chimera linux with phosh as a de, and for the apps I was thinking mostly linux programs and maybe some android apps with waydroid, but I’ll also try this!

I have a fp4 and it is VERY annoying to not have jack(I don’t wanna use bluetooth because jack works, doesn’t need a battery and is low tech), so now I only listen to music on my computer, but I’m planning on making an mp3 player with a raspberry pi pico.
- Comment on Implementing Portable User Identities with DIDs 3 weeks ago:
yeah, that’s doable, I would do it like this: DIDs could just be cryptographic signing keys, and your client could just sign all your posts, and send it to any server, which will federate that. same with the upvotes/downvotes(timestamps will have to be signed so a server could not just replay an upvote or downvote if you change your mind) in this case, servers will only be useful for naming(and keeping the bio and public signing key) and relaying the messages to other servers.

I use helix, and it does have bold and italic! what I really like about helix is how you can have multiple cursors at once.

- Comment on Montana hydropower provides reliable, carbon-free energy for customers 3 weeks ago:
yeah but it can be misleading, something can have a “low carbon footprint” and still produce a lot of methane or other gases…
- Comment on fediverse/activitypub based linktree alternative 3 weeks ago:
well, I haven’t tried it, but there’s codeberg pages.
- Comment on Montana hydropower provides reliable, carbon-free energy for customers 3 weeks ago:
carbon free? how do you know that nobody emptied a bottle of sparkling water in there?
also, more seriously, does anyone realize that there are greenhouse gasses way more dangerous than carbon dioxyde, like methane?

- Comment on Inside the Underground Trade of ‘Flipper Zero’ Tech to Break into Cars 4 weeks ago:
And ethical hacking and law-abiding hacking aren’t the same either
I prefer saying ‘grey hat’ instead of ‘ethical hacker’ because ethical hacker is now used to mean ‘pentester’, ‘red teamer’ and all the other cybersecurity stuff, or so it seems to me.
that was the entire meaning of my comment, I clearly didn’t make it clear enough.
- Comment on Inside the Underground Trade of ‘Flipper Zero’ Tech to Break into Cars 4 weeks ago:
I’m pretty sure that’s what’s meant by ‘ethical hacker’ in most cases and that’s why I wanted to point out the difference you are pointing out right now.
