Why say sexual abuse material images, which is grammatically incorrect, instead of sexual abuse images, which is what you mean, and shorter?
- Comment on A Developer Accidentally Found CSAM in AI Data. Google Banned Him For It 1 week ago:
Sorry. To address your two points, where did people get the idea that the word porn implies artistic merit or consent? It simply means material intended to sexually excite people. Is that not the difference between what we consider CSAM and a picture of your kid in the tub?
CP can stand for a lot of things but it’s common parlance now. CSAM just causes confusion.
Also really? Now you’re stooping to the old “why so mad bro?”. You’re the one having a meltdown, I’m wasting time at work by sharing an opinion.

“I’m mad you’re right so let me compare you to a hateful right wing grifter and also by the way, you’re wrong because all my friends say so.”
It may shock you but a handful of Lemmy users doesn’t constitute the linguistic consensus you’re trying to inherit here.

You’re right. It can be images, that’s exactly why saying “this man was found in possession of child abuse material images” does not make grammatical sense. It’s why CP still defines it better as we’re not arresting people for owning copies of Lolita, which you could argue is also CSAM.
the majority of people disagree with you.
The majority of people can be wrong.

Material.
- Comment on A Developer Accidentally Found CSAM in AI Data. Google Banned Him For It 1 week ago:
A “material image” doesn’t make any sense.
I don’t know why this is the second time I’ve had a discussion about CSAM being a stupid acronym on Lemmy, but it’s also the only place I’ve ever seen people use it.

CSAM images

Calling it csam ensures there’s no confusion about it being abuse.
Just confusion about what the acronym stands for.

I wouldn’t call fascists or CIA- & bourgeois-backed counterrevolutionaries “civilians.”
Fucking hilarious that you whine about the term tankie sounding “othering” to you and then shamelessly trot this line out.

Not everyone on the internet is American.

Hey, we don’t all have the luxury of Nazi gold and ignoring the atrocities committed by our neighbours!

I think you’ve been living in a broken democracy too long, you can’t examine it objectively anymore.
The alternative is that you actually believe authoritarianism to be morally superior, which is just disturbing.

that allows half the people to sell out the other half.
Do you actually think that’s worse than the elite deciding who is going to starve and who’s going to be disappeared to maintain their power?
Why bother pretending to return the means of production to the worker only to rob them of their voice?

I bought it two weeks ago on sale and I’ve been playing it non stop.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a complex survival game (to the point that you need to manage the ratio of gasses in your furnace to make metals).

Thank you. These should get fixed.
But again, I can host behind a VPN and have zero risk here. I can work around my own shit, a Plex user can’t protect their data when Plex owns it.
- Comment on Plex got hacked. 3 months ago:
But it’s not difficult to integrate it yourself.
It’s inherently different. Plex liked having your data and didn’t protect it.
Jellyfins security is as good as the infrastructure you build yourself.

There’s a lot of bad shit in our poop that isn’t in most wild animal shit.
Particularly transmissible diseases for other humans.
