Still were privileged little shits whose mommy and daddy’s bought them edgy clothes so they could appear as counter culture.

I would also like to add that this is our fault as consumers for lapping up and becoming dependent on the smartphone and centralized Internet. (Though on the fediverse you are probably aware of that, but almost all of the content here originates from it).
- Comment on What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing? 2 days ago:
I’m glad Nintendo did that. Almost all completionist achievements are shit compared to actual substance in a game especially one as rich as BotW. Give the achievement hunter their dessert.
- Comment on What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing? 2 days ago:
I’ll only answer the first one.
Achievement systems full stop. People who value completion through achievement systems are fucking uncreative persons who need to find a different hobby or reconsider why they enjoy theirs. From a dev standpoint it’s just a way of lazily padding a game.
I’m not talking about completionists of actual game content like collecting all the stars in a Mario game, or catching the 151 pokemon, but moreso the “silver trophy” for killing 2000 grunts or whatever bs achievement ideas they decided to arbitrarily create. You’re diluting the art form.

I really think they did it so easily with the adoption of the smartphone and the centralized Internet they genuinely are confused why their strategy isn’t working this time around.

A clear and intentional use of forced perspective. Don’t know why the caption has to make it seem like this is something that just “accidentally happened” while shooting a photo.

When I was potty training a toddler the little guy would, with a serious face, would say he had to poop, only to start smiling and laughing at me with no intention of going once his naked bum was on the toilet.

Note: in my experience this does NOT work if you are a clean-cut looking person. You will be assumed to be the police and/or you will be threatened. You get your girlfriends to buy the drugs for you.

When I was in my early 20s a grindr arrangement showed up at my place and something was clearly wrong. tweaking with a meth pipe asked me if I wanted any.
I was insulted, but let him jerk off to me anyway in exchange I got to toss his drugs and paraphernalia. Nothing against drugs, but hope that dude in particular stayed clean.

I had a psychiatrist once who was a fan of One Piece and when I had him explain it to me, it didn’t sound like he enjoyed the plot as the main course per se but enjoyed that the characters were consistent. That he could pop in around any arc at random and have an idea of what’s going on. Luffy is rubber, Zoro has his sword, etc.
He viewed it more like a soap opera you could tune into, rather than something you view from start to finish.

These are the same people that got their knickers in a twist about microwaving water for tea. Logic is not found in these types, only vibes.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
This is a horrible ethical argument. It has about as much logic as anal sex being legitimate before marriage because of the loophole of it not being traditional penetration. Just have sex. Just use viable human cells. Who cares.

I’ll call your bet and say that Sweeny is right. I think AI will become so commonplace that there will be no way around it and the market has already been streamlined in this direction.
I would love it if my “feels” could be seen. But that is not reality. This battle is already long lost. Lemmy and the like can rage about it til their flames die out but it is a lost cause.
- Comment on Valve dev counters calls to scrap Steam AI disclosures, says it's a "technology relying on cultural laundering, IP infringement, and slopification" 1 month ago:
I’m in favor of the disclosures for my own personal reasons, but I see a lot of people who are anti-AI usage based on “vibes” and that does not sit well with me. If people are disregarding the positive benefits of the technology because “vibes”, it makes me doubt the validity of those opinions.

There will be mainstream adoption of Open Source Software but you’re dreaming if you think it will remain free. Marketing alone to get the masses to adopt these options will have a cost that people will be paying for.
