Yep, and after they made Linux stop working.

That’s why I use graphene but the permission is still there in base android.

Solution is to just enable the permission on apps that need it.

Damn, that replaces seerr and Maintainer. I don’t run jelljyfin but this could be great.

It’s why I’m looking at ubiquity locks and seeing if I can hardware a residential door.

Yeah, I’m thinking of getting a sata ssd and putting it in one of the hot swap bays as I have 6/8 filled with 14tb HDDs is raid 6. Then putting all the docker stuff there so it’s not on the boot nvme.

If I’m running Ubuntu server can I backup my docker files and will Debian find my mdam raid without issue?

Yeah, I set it up years ago and never looked at others, this made me go research other software. Not like I’ll be missed. I never paid and my company uses openshift.

Since I posted that I have migrated to arcane.

I have been trying out zulip zulip.readthedocs.io/en/latest/…/index.html

That’s why I bought one of those jet kvms, helped out as I don’t have extra monitors.

Reverse proxy with fail2ban and crowdsec on only 443 for a couple things. Minecraft is forwarded for server. Everything else is behind VPN.

I don’t get the only cli mindset, in enterprise and home lab it’s great to have monitoring and insight into what’s running.

I started migrating last night. You have to stop your running instances, copy over the yaml and change the volume mounts if you used named volumes.

They want to be a competitor to openshift and rancher.

I set it up years ago when I still had Ubuntu desktop running on an old laptop. Just kept using it even after using and learning kubernetes at work on an enterprise scale. Also the automatic image checks, easy to check metrics, logs, and endpoints. I have 33 containers right now, it’s just simple to see them all in one screen.

I use 100% kubernetes at work and help other teams get their app working but at home I don’t run anything that supports it.

That’s what I’m going to try out first, looks nice and simple and I just got voidauth working too so oidc support would be nice.

Wooo, gamepad finally.

I had no formal training in hosting when I started. What got me started was, dating myself, blockbuster going out of business and getting over 1000 dvds over the course of their downfall and wanting a better way to watch a movie than going thru a big binder. Found Plex eventually, then built a server from an old workstation and a couple hdds. Then docker and automation, that did get me in the door for my current kubernetes job, now I’m starting to get kubernetes setup at home with 3 mini PCs.

I think Republicans will love it if Saudi uses religion to say what can be made.

I have been loving it so far and got immich and going to add others and under it soon.

Yeah, I gave my dad my old pixel and put a launcher on it, locked down the settings so it wouldn’t get accidentally changed to small fonts and just had a few apps, phone, text, email, door dash. That worked except the time he forgot to charge it but I think he knew I would come over more when I couldn’t call him.

If it’s just to make calls I would go used android, big screen and a special launcher that simplifies it and makes text big for typing in numbers. I see the Bluetooth landline phone things have bad reviews but most are from 4 years ago and say to go SIP if you want an actual handset.

I’ll have to give that a look. I spun up immich to replace Google photos but I can’t fully switch over till I have them in a cloud backup. Everything else is config/docker files that are small.

I’ll have to look more into it but I use this. I thought it compresses before uploading but I can’t find the doc yet. docs.duplicati.com/…/set-up-a-backup-in-the-ui

Backup as a zip? Small files warped up in one big file. Only backup what you can’t restore from somewhere else. I think B2 can ship you a HDD to restore from if I remember correctly.

Glad to hear, the ones doing the work now will get more recognition and the one leaving can do more of what they want. Hopefully they had a good handoff.

There is still transcoding done thru the server, maybe depending on the app but the ones that use livekit it would.
