Yeah I always ignore them because I always assume it’s either a bit farm or the algorithm pushing the comments, both of which I wanna discourage, so I don’t interact with them.
- Comment on TikTok may become more right-wing as China signals approval for US sale 1 week ago:
The political part of my feed is pretty much hard left wing - but when I open the comments the top responders are the most right wing PoS’s I’ve ever seen. Which is so stupid because they’ll have max 200 thumbs up while a rational left wing respons will ratio them out of the water

It really sucks that they were bought out by Google because for some reason waze’s navigation is 1000x better than gmaps, even tho they’re apparently from the same parent company
- Comment on Apple Reportedly Moving Ahead With Ads in Maps App 1 week ago:
I’m still using Google for looking up places but I stopped using it for car navigation because holy shit it sucks ass. Using waze now and it’s so much better. No idea of they’re FOSS tho

In the Netherlands we call them raspatat. It’s mostly a brand name from the initials of its inventor tho.

I mean if you’re a genuine target they’ll find a way.
(Also a nitpick, Paragon is originally an Israeli corporation, altho they do have an US division since 2022)

Weird that they would target one of the biggest mainstream chat apps in whole of Europe
- Comment on ICE just bought new tool to monitor hundreds of millions of smartphones. Experts say it’s dangerous 4 weeks ago:
Looks like they use 0-day exploits to indeed install spyware on targets
Meta shared information with WhatsApp that led them to identify, mitigate, and attribute a Paragon zero-click exploit. On January 31, 2025, WhatsApp sent notifications to approximately 90 WhatsApp accounts they believed were targeted with Paragon’s spyware, including journalists and members of civil society.
- Comment on Why are podcasters/vloggers suddenly holding tiny mics? 5 weeks ago:
YouTubers didn’t mind the blocky look as it let them get great quantity sound in not ideal locations, without messing with traditional lapel mics(boxy clips, cables and tape).
Except most of the youtubers holding mics are doing that exact thing - except, instead of actually clipping the lavalier mics to their shirt they hold them up by the clip. Which is extremely dumb when you think about it.
- Comment on Why are podcasters/vloggers suddenly holding tiny mics? 5 weeks ago:
But they are completely nondescript tho, unless they actually name the brand you’ll have to know the mic from sight alone. Which is easy when it’s a shure SM58 or SM7B, but when it’s a tiny lavalier mic that’s pretty difficult.

Come to the Netherlands and you can swear with all the diseases you want! Except cancer - some people will take genuine offense if you do that. But typhus, cholera, tuberculosis? Those are a-okay!

You can train that, actually. Part of a higher education in music is learning solfege, which is the ability to recognize intervals and chords combined with the ability to be able to (somewhat) sing them.
One of my favorite youtube videos about music is one about solfege. I’ll go and find it and edit it into this comment.

God i hate that one. Takes all the emersion out of a scene. I don’t really mind it in a comedy or something but when it’s in a serious movie I really don’t get why you would include it.
