Made me curious and I did the math, the girl who gave birth to her son two months after graduation, he can legally drink now.
God damn I’m going to need some more ibuprofen today…
- Comment on Microsoft is plugging more holes that let you use Windows 11 without an online account 1 week ago:
Same, I made the switch about 9 years ago when I was self-employed. Then I took a job with a small company running windows and it sucked. Now I’m 6 years in with my current, a mega corp, and they are all in on Microsoft. I’ve been so aggravated with the limitations of Microsoft products when I could get things done with a FOSS product in no time. Of course IT blocks FOSS installs because of corporate policy…🤬

While nowhere is truly safe from Ohio, my parents took me to Maine to visit family friends as a kid, it’s very nice there, I highly recommend fleeing to Maine.

True for the organization as a whole, but a pissed off engineer or two could have done it, and the people above them are just leaning on “it’s the algorithm” since they don’t agree with the censorship either.
I’m sure the C Suite will step in and make them change it but it takes time for them to address the issue.
I’m not saying that’s what is going on, but I’ve witnessed my own department head pull similar tricks, albeit his tricks weren’t as high stakes as this would be.
- Comment on Google is blocking AI searches for Trump and dementia 1 week ago:
Surfacing the result of how they are censoring the results might be a canary in a coal mine, we can’t say we’re doing it but we can make the top result someone else saying we’re doing it.

I want to be cremated but I also want to be guillotined before being shoved into the fire. Knowing that the likelihood of that actually happening is slim to none, I’m in inclined to request a viewing even though I don’t want one just so they replace my blood with embalming fluid, at least that would ensure I’m dead.

I only know this because he’s from my area and still does charity work in the area, Travis Kelce. Honestly I couldn’t care less about celebrity lives, but from what I’ve seen in local press he does seem to be a good guy.

Not denying that it is, but 20 years ago I was a contractor with Smuckers corporate aviation department and these had just come out, they were giving them away to promote them and I tried a few… they were REALLY good. I get why parents give them to their kids, both parents having to work long days sometimes two jobs, kids need food fast that they will eat, these for the bill.
Now as for the this being an American thing, just let me put on some kid rock, an overpriced Chinese made hat that claims the country I’m about to say is the best, isn’t great, and put a bag over my head to kill a bunch of brain cells. Ok I think I’m ready.
Look here libtard this is the greatest country in the world, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and if you don’t like it well then love it or leave it, cuz you know what we beat the Russians, PUNTIN IS GREAT, and their libtard socialism, I know that cuz I learned it in public school that I got to on public transportation that operates on public roads, just proof that America is better than socialism, the public provided that, not them queery socialists, and the public is to busy being hard working Americans holding down two or three jobs to be able to take the time to cook healthy meals for their kids, and besides high fructose corn syrup is good for ya, it’s got corn which is healthy and syrup which comes from freakin trees, now you ain’t going to tell me corn and trees are unhealthy?
Ok I can’t do that anymore, I was starting to piss myself off.

There was a pro-nazi movement in the U.S. in the 1930’s. They had a nazi rally in Madison Square Garden. The nazis went underground for the most part after the U.S. entered WW2.

I couldn’t agree more, why I remember the first time I saw Airplane! it was during the war, my wingman George Zipp suggested the film while we were on R&R. I agreed to go with him, more to keep him company than an actual desire to see the film, but to my surprise I actually enjoyed it. On our way home we stopped by a disco… <entire comment section self-immolates>

I get it, my dad worked in corporate aviation, my aunt worked in commercial aviation, and I worked in cargo aviation. I also have a little second hand knowledge of military aviation. Anytime there’s something with planes in TV or film, I cringe… well except for Airplane! but that should go without saying.
- Comment on Why aren't you creating more workers?? 1 month ago:
Born in 84, I’ve noticed something of a trend in my area. Late gen X and late millennials are having children, most are having two or three, but a lot of people like me born in the mid 80’s aren’t. While this is by no means universal, there does seem to be more people within five years of my age going without kids.

I get the centralization concerns, but I would think that’s on the consumer since there are other options. As for the fascist content, as another commenter said, they could risk their safe harbor if they started stated regulating content that they weren’t legally required to regulate.
Just my thoughts.

- Comment on Roku launches Howdy, a $2.99 ad-free streaming service 2 months ago:
When I saw the ad for this on my Roku I thought it was just some western channel based on the name and color scheme. It wasn’t until I saw an article about it that I even knew what it was. I looked into it, my thoughts are, terrible branding, terrible marketing, terrible discovery on the website.
I don’t see anything that I don’t already own that I would want to watch, but since the website search sucks I don’t know if there’s more to see or not.
Based on all that, I’m not even willing to blow $2.99 one time to see if it gets better in the app because I doubt it will.

TIL. I first encountered Sceptre during lockdown when I needed better monitors than I was sent home with. I’ve been impressed and have bought two more since then for other devices. And about two years ago I bought one of their dumb TVs, and it’s worked flawlessly.

TVs don’t seem to be a core business for them, I get the impression that they are a monitor focused business. Of course it’s not hard to upgrade a monitor to a TV so why not?
They do list all their products on their website so maybe check there?
- Comment on Should I unplug my smart tv from the internet? 2 months ago:
Yes.
Get a dumb TV, I’ve had great luck with the Specter brand, and hook up a set top box for your smart functionality.
Smart TVs spyon you, report on you, eat bandwidth even when off, and become out dated quickly.
