Just started Moonlighter 2 today.
- Comment on Blue Man Coup 1 day ago:
Weirdly enough, that has been my biggest issue with both. The military is portrayed so over the top, that it’s laughable.
I get it, military bad, natives good, I’m totally on board with that, but give them some nuance!

Hands down, my favorite rpg in years. It has also been one of the super rare games that I kept playing past the end of the main story just so I could stay in the world a bit longer. It will also be one of the only games I’ve bought after playing it on Game Pass too.

Quake was the first time I remember hardware actually gave you an advantage vs. other players. Those with 3dfx cards could see into water vs those without, having a texture on top you couldn’t see into.
Unreal took all of that to a whole nother level.

I’d have to spend more on the ups than the ac unit. Sometimes it’s brown outs, sometimes full blackouts. As much as I hate connecting it to the web, it’s free vs at least a couple hundred for a high enough wattage ups to run more than a minute.
- Comment on There was no need to ever improve upon THIS 3 weeks ago:
You joke, but I literally came across this. I HATE that I had to connect my window unit to the net, but we have a lot of brownouts in the area, and it allows me to restart the AC if I’m away, or else my pups would cook during the summer if it didn’t turn on. The AWS outage hit, and I couldn’t log in to the app that controls it to turn it on. Luckily, it’s not peak summer and it didn’t get too warm by the time I got home.
- Comment on The Sodium-Ion Battery Revolution Has Started 3 weeks ago:
The thumbnail and article show a sodium ion battery pack just randomly on the kitchen counter while a lady is cooking dinner.
Kind of like those stupid Amazon pictures for wusjduejxxw power juicer Chinese knockoff version 4.2 showing it in a pool or some random place.

Honey, where did you out my sodium ion battery?
On the kitchen counter so it can watch me cook dinner.

So pretty safe if Windows is a priority install, and Linux is on a 2nd drive. Easy enough, thanks!

I want to use this last year of win 10 updates to slowly get onto Bazzite but I have heard horror stories of dualbooting Linux and Windows. Windows tends to overwrite the boot preferences and caps the system.i have only booted into Linux from an external drive in the past, so what is the tried and true dual boot method?
- Comment on Huge internet outage live blog: Amazon, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max and more experiencing issues 4 weeks ago:
To be fair, if they are talking about digitizing your own library, yes, it can take a lot of time. When I attempted it, each DVD took about a half hour to 45 minutes to rip. I flat out didn’t have that kind of time with the size of my collection. It is way easier, although riskier, to download.
- Comment on similar to the word of mouth post, what game did you not expect much from but loved it? 4 weeks ago:
I had lost my grandad a few years prior and never really dealt with it. My Grandma was already declining and only had months to go. I went in 100% blind to Spiritfarer and started it because I wanted something laid back, and I enjoyed the art style. Talk about a gut punch.
That game, at that time, had the same effect that watching Grave of the Fireflies had back in the day. It still sticks with me to this day.

Spiritfarer Was not ready for that emotional rollercoaster from a “cozy” game.

- Comment on Microsoft reportedly mulls ad-infested free Xbox Cloud Gaming plan — Game Pass Ultimate subscriber allegedly catches ad during game loading 1 month ago:
You know, I hate ads, and I stopped my recurring Ultimate sub due to the price hike. However, I can ignore a 2 minute preroll if it means that once in a while, I can try out some random indie game.
But Jesus christ, a 5 hour monthly cap? That’s not even worth putting up with ads for. They really have lost the ability/want to keep customers.

- Comment on Shortly After Xbox Game Pass Prices Spiked, the Page to Cancel Game Pass Subscriptions Was Overwhelmed 1 month ago:
I don’t have a backlog of PS games due to mainly playing Xbox for the last 20 something years. That’s why subscription services can make sense, you play through games you’ve missed out on. Kind of like sub hopping for tv streaming, you build up a back log, sub for a few months then move to the next.

Yeah I was shocked at the overlap of titles between the 2. If I had noticed that the last price hike, I might have switched sooner.
- Comment on Updates to Xbox Game Pass: Introducing Essential, Premium, and Ultimate Plans - Xbox Wire [prices going up] 1 month ago:
Even if that was the intention, I used the platform while it worked for me, and I saw value. The minute I didn’t see the value, I left the platform. No tech company (and most companies) has had my loyalty for years. The minute they do something I don’t agree with, I’m out.

I know it’s not better, but it has a bunch of the catalog from Game Pass as well as a bunch of PS titles I’ve missed while being on Xbox.
