ou mean to say you walk miles ??
As much as possible, I’ll go anywhere I can walking. Unless there is a real practical reason not to, I now walk multiple miles every single day. I love long walks :)
that’s major achievement
But it was always just a few more steps… aka, a real minor objective.

Daily objectives is how I (re)learned to walk… never fixing myself impressive objective, regularly noticing other people smiling at my lack of impressive progress while I focuses on walking a few more steps every day. Still, I went from barely being able to walk to walking miles daily… and I also got back into a somewhat decent shape.

Of course.
Like mentioned, big yearly goals are worth shit. Instead, you should aim for more realistic things that are actionable and that you can work on… on a daily basis.
- Comment on Where there people in the 1980's who refused to call 3.5" floppy disks floppy disks? 2 weeks ago:
The housing was kinda rigid but the disk itself was real flimsy, says I who have used many floppy disks. Plus, in French we used to say ‘disque’ or even ‘disquette’ (a small disk) which did not relate at all to their floppiness, so to speak.

Just do it, because it’s wasting your time and effort, and possibly also material if it’s failing in ways that a better tool would not. It’s preventing you from doing better work.
I know you’re right. It’s just me being… me ;)
In France, we don’t use craiglist but we have a similar thing called Leboncoin (for anyone wondering). Maybe that’s jsut what I will do, taking this as the opportunity to also look for a good deal on a better model for my own use, using that same website ;)

I wish I had read your comment (and asked the op question) a few years ago when I purchased my own sewing machine (I decided to learn in my early 50s to mend my spouse and my clothe): it’s a rather weak machine that can’t handle denim that well, if at all… Looking very much like the first picture you shared. But since IO also don’t want to create too much waste, I try to make do with it… up until I can find a used model that will work better and someone willing to use mine.
