In the same sense, there recently was a disclosure of footages of this kind of camera during a massive protest in france, with thousands on each side. It was very violent, with two protesters into coma if i’m right. Turns out, police forces were told beforehand to “record to prove we’ve done nothing wrong”. The result is hours of footages of insults, illegal use of their gear, call to use lethal weapons, and pleasure of sending people to hospital, because those morons forgot to turn the cameras off when those happened.

- Comment on Generative AI and Wikipedia editing: What we learned in 2025 6 days ago:
Interesting numbers for people who dont wanna read : - on all the new contributors they taught, only ~5% were flagged by the AI detection tool. - on the AI flagged articles, only 7% presented sources that didn’t even exist. Most of the AI outputed correct statements with existing sources. - however, north of 66% of AI articles failed verification : the citations or facts could not be found in the sources provided by AI
- Comment on Is it true that in the US we are a low context culture and In France, they are high context culture? The video I'm going to attach explains the differences. 1 week ago:
It seems to be a real anthropology concept, and it kinda makes sense for my experience as french, i guess you could be in a relationship without saying “we are bf/gf”, though it seems odd to not talk about your feelings if the relationship goes on for multiple dates. I don’t know what i think about this concept, partly because one justification is “countries with a very diverse population are more low context” and france is a mix of a lot of cultures, but i guess it’s true in some ways.

Cut it on the side, you can effectively have a nice sandwich. Cut it in tiny slices and you can make nice tiny toast. You’re more hungry ? Cut a big portion, slice one side, and you got a tiny sandwich. Slice both sides, and now you have two big toasts, that are a bit elongated so you can dip them into your coffee/chocolate if you’d like ! It fits so many cases !

Ooooh it makes so much sense to leave it perpetually in the pot! I never understood why it was a thing, because there was always a bit of honey remaining on it and that felt weird, but now i get it, thank you for explaining.

I’ve been using makertube.net as a non-posting user for now, and they say they are open for new content creators, though it requires contacting them. I don’t know if it is one of those that remain silent, but i’ve seen quite a bunch of creators on it.

Apparently OP made a separate note for German special letters but did not include them in the count in the list, it’s also 26. They could have made the specification for French too indeed, or not have made the one for German.
- Comment on 2 months ago:
Tbf i’ve never heard of them being counted in the alphabet as separated letters, so 26 is the number i’ve always seen.

Sure the wording may sound rude, but it’s also perfectly understandable given the circumstances. Kinda seems like both men in your story are not realizing the mental workload your friend and you faced.
- Comment on Is the amount of Lemmy activity declining? 5 months ago:
If i'm not mistaken, the very last graph showing posts by month shows a significant decreasing over the summer, or at least specifically july (since august is not over yet). It says June is around 12M posts and July around 9M. August seems already over 9M and we're only 2/3 in, so maybe there was some drop around July for some reason, which could explain OP's feeling.
As for the reason, i'm not sure, maybe a combination of factors like some server blocking access from UK with the latest privacy bullshit, some server having signficant downtime (i think slrpnk.net had a problem with servers locking themselves up while tech admin was abroad), and maybe non-Lemmy factors like holidays (though they don't seem to impact previous years stats).

- Comment on Feeling insecure about going to a 'girlie pop' concert as a 30 year old man, am i overthinking it? 5 months ago:
I'm not sure about "girl pop" concert vibe, but i don't see much video pointing out at people in the crowd in concerts (in fact, i only remember one, and it's not really being mean at the person). Also there may be some kind of survivor paradox here : the video you see of young adult woman may not be a realistic depiction of the crowd, there probably is people just chilling, but they're less interesting to film, so there's less video about them. I'd say enjoy yourself !
- Comment on North Korea sent me abroad to be a secret IT worker. My wages funded the regime 5 months ago:
Okay, my mistake, i misinterpreted it. To be fair with BBC, they point out in the title and article that this is just some transcript of someone anonymous, and they try to tie each allegation with reports from other sources to back up their likeliness. I guess it's the best you can do with someone anonymous ? Revealing the company, dates, or town might compromise the anonymity. I have this low-key uncomfortable feeling of "well, there's nothing that proves it" with most anonymous reports i read or hear, even when it's for events that are common otherwise.
- Comment on North Korea sent me abroad to be a secret IT worker. My wages funded the regime 5 months ago:
There are also reports by companies and american judiciary system. Now, those are biased voices too, they lack clear proof of what happened, and they probably make it bigger than it is, but i find it unlikely that this is 100% bs and staging : if i had that much resources to pour into staging something, i think it would be more convincing.

- Comment on [deleted] 6 months ago:
Wikipedia requires you to be "notable" according to their definition. Here are some of the criterias that may be used depending on the category. Theoretically, only one is enough, but you also needs reliable and independent sources to prove it.
As others have said, making dumb records is probably the easiest ways. If you're music people, starting an obscure/local variation of another genre could be a thing. Making a randomly specific movie can be another relatively easy way. Books can be a solution too, if you get a way to get people to talk about it.
