Fair enough point. I always thought the Commune was just a Paris regional thing and didn’t even extend its influence as far as Versailles, so not like a whole French government

I think the meme of regime instability is justified. In between the five Republics there were also several other regimes like the Consulate, 1st Empire, Restoration, 100 Days, Second Restoration, July Monarchy, 2nd Empire, and Vichy.
