No alternate opinions are allowed apparently…
Yeah, mods will just ban us if we get reported enough. It doesn’t matter if the reports or accurate or if we’re actually breaking any rules.
They don’t realize it, but that kind of behavior has a long term effect on the health and perception of the community.
I’m looking forward to the sections of the fediverse that don’t abuse their mod power. Right now we don’t really have any since most of the mods are immature.

Lemmy is definitely turning into an echo-chamber among the bigger instances.
It’s okay, though. Once enough people get censored, it opens up the opportunity for people to start instances that don’t abuse their mod power.

I’d rather see lemmy.world shrink to irrelevance because their mods are just using it as a tool to push their agendas.

original or thoughtful
That’s the problem, the powers that b have deemed it necessary that we only have 1 of 2 ideas.
Either you’re loyal to conservatives, or loyal to neo-liberals. Anything else is cause for a ban, and there will be no cavalry to defend you since you’re not loyal to either side.

It’s all a ploy to control what we think.
Ideas are powerful, that’s why they don’t want us to have any of our own.

Lemmy isn’t much better.
We still need communities that don’t allow mod abuse.
