- Comment on EU fines Apple $568m for deterring third-party payment methods on App Store 1 week ago:
They are pushing but sadly that fine is only %0.1 of each companies annual revenue for that year alone. They can go as high as 10%.
So yes they are making headway but they are far from restoring some level of sanity between big corporations and society at large.
- Comment on EU fines Apple $568m for deterring third-party payment methods on App Store 1 week ago:
The fine represents %0.1 of Apple’s annual revenue for 2024. That’s right. That’s how little the fine is in the grand scheme of things. And they are STILL mad.
Also, the EU can go as high as 10%.

Reddit stock is the epitome of a revolving pump and dump. The shadiest stock right up there with Tesla.

Ya the fan art product shot is what I meant lol. Thanks for linking the actual patent (which I feel does have legs) was super annoyed OP linked that thing rather than the actual sketch 👊
- Comment on The Circle of iLife 1 week ago:
Ya sorry that’s what I meant lol. Like that’s not a real product Apple made it’s some fanart nonesense. Someone else linked the proper patent on my other reply which does have legs because it’s essentially an iPod with a pairable headset. Which means you could just play tunes off the case like the Apple Watch. Since you kind of always need the case, it makes sense.
I’m guessing Cook is worried about cannibalism with the precious iPhone, and likely watch. The price point would also be an issue, I can’t see AirPod Pros jumping to $700!

They’d both be graping each others mothers for the prize I’m sure…
Funnily enough, my old employer hired an HR rep… formerly from Nestle. Just, wow. Like the worst kind of human I’ve ever met. Man can these shitty companies spot “talent.”
I’m convinced to work for either, you need to film yourself eating the liver from a blind baby.
- Comment on Sony Music Among Parties Pushing To Cut Off Internet for Pirating Customers — Supreme Court Asked To Intervene 1 week ago:
Reason #56,789 of why Sony is on my permanent embargo list since 2002. They treat their customers like absolute shit. And they pay their bills.
If Sony is involved you know it’s straight sleaze. If there was an award for most evil company, they’d be leading.
Sony’s part of the fine was raised by a third for trying to obstruct the investigation by refusing to answer inquiries made by the EU officials and shredding of evidence during the multiple law-enforcement raids.
From their part in the videotape price fixing snafu back some 20 years. That’s how they roll.

Shitty company does more shitty things. Also, how does that get patented lol. Absolute fucking gong show of a country.

So that tells you everything you need to know.

It’s still got to get it to the US. You can’t circumvent Tarrifs unless you buy the item outside the country and lie at the border.
Buying elsewhere means when it hits your local customs, you pay the increase there.

I’m talking about whatever nomenclature people think will be used to put a fucking TV with a face on the stand so it can defend its right to liberty and the same protections afforded to it as we afford to us.
Never happen.
Call it whatever you want.
- Comment on It’s game over for people if AI gains legal personhood 1 week ago:
AI could never be considered a person because you have to be human for that to apply. Even if it was a human and we uploaded it, that still wouldn’t apply. You need a pulse. Or at the very least, your head.
- Comment on The Oscars officially don’t care if films use AI 1 week ago:
Yes! The CG on Avatar took away jobs from real Navi that could have played the part. But they had to get them to look exactly like the human actors. Pathetic.

This is basically tying every immobilizer or alarm to a car horn. Now all you hear is horns all fucking day and night because every car has one.
If I lived near one there is no way that road would exist for more than a week. Things like this should be banned, in perpetuity.
Whoever came up with the concept should not be allowed to make further decisions in life.

- Comment on Elon Musk: your new Tesla will drive from the factory floor, to your house 'this year' 1 week ago:
He just parrots bits and pieces of things other people have explained to him. His entire life is a lie thru and thru. I mean Tesla makes 99.9% of its profits from reselling carbon credits. He built a car company that can’t even make money from its cars.
He as fired from PayPal after 6 months with prejudice. His entire code needed to be gutted and essentially rewritten it was so bad.
He said there would be people living on Mars and built spaceships to get them there and in the 10 years since then, all they do is blow up.
He planned to build tunnels that would only let Teslas drive around lol.
He is poking electrodes in chimps claiming you will get superhuman powers and implanted people with the chips all of which showed the revolutionary skill of eye tracking, something Apple software has been able to do since 2021/22.
His starlinks are used mostly for political espionage and control by the rich oligarchs or oppressors.
He called a diver a pedo letting loose a legion of his sycophants because he criticized his insane idea to build a sub for a cave that could barely fit a person in choke points. In an other country. Where no one had asked him for help.
He faked being really good at a video game for internet points. Then people found out and laughed at him.
He did a Nazi salute.
I don’t know man. I can’t see anywhere at any time a smart person. All I see a little troll that conned the lot of you because most people know nothing about anything so stringing together some jargon seems legit.

If all you’re doing is re writing emails or needing a list on how to start learning python, or explain to someone what a glazier does, yeah AI must be so nice lmao.
The only use for AI is for people who have zero skill and talent to look like they actually have skill and talent. You’re scraping an existence off the backs of all the collective talent to, checks notes, make rule34 galvanized. Good job?
