this is self-hosting local-first apps. There's some local-first manifesto somewhere... one of their greatest 'backend' developments were CRDTs. The idea, is that the app can be turned off, synchronization can be interrupted and resumed, and so on. Those CRDTs allow people to use a text editor even when the client(s) are disconnected from the server. Of course, depending on how much your version differs, the merge conflict of diverging versions will be easier to solve...

+1 I use it to on all of my devices for sharing 1 folder, just set one as introducer, and keep adding nodes (e.g. phone, Work mini, laptops, PC, ...) Once you have that set, start adding folders as needed for specific cases (e.g. a folder shared among all mentioned except for Work mini.)

That's re-victimization. People do people stuff, like using social networks. Furthermore, the database probably goes as far as previous being bought and renamed by Musk. So... you're note being fair.

AFAIK that was a telemetry issue that was fixed (but very poorly addressed.) last year. Then someone posted about it recently...

I am using it BECAUSE of the vertical bar. So, I wouldn't know.
I have been using Sidebery in Firefox for ages now... and TreeStyleTabs before that. To me it's natural to use the space in the side of the web, since I almost never scroll horizontally but instead need the vertical space...

Thankfully I have been switching to Zen Browser just earlier this week :) I am very happy with the UI and 'firefox backend' (I get addons from here, not the highly censored google chrome webstore.)
