Loved this episode’s visual direction, especially the eerie feel of the invisible people village and Kiriguro’s Paris arc.

Spring Season
Definitely Watching
- Dorohedoro Season 2 - I❤Hole.
- Witch Hat Atelier - excited to relive the beginning of the story in a different format this time. I hope the adaptation does justice to Kamome Shirahama’s gorgeous art. My only concern for now is that I didn’t imagine Qifrey and Olruggio sounding like Natsuki Hanae and Yuuichi Nakamura; I’ll get used to it eventually.
- Ace of Diamond Act II Season 2 - I don’t get enough baseball in my anime these days.
- Go For It, Nakamura! - I like its art style. May Chiaki Kobayashi continue voicing black-haired queer boys.
- Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4 - more Myne is always a good idea; I’ve missed her.
- Daemons of the Shadow Realm - Hiromu Arakawa’s story and Bones adapting it. The soundtrack already sounds epic.
- Dandelion - can’t miss it as a Gintama fan.
- Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 3 - I hope this season doesn’t make me regret not dropping it after the first one like Fire Force did.
Interested In
- Scenes from Awajima - may be a good drama; I have hopes for this one.
- Nippon Sangoku - the synopsis didn’t sound like something I’d enjoy and I was pondering if I should watch it just because it’s visually interesting, but then the latest PV introduced a fascinating guy voiced by Jun Fukuyama, so I feel like watching it now.
- The Ramparts of Ice - from the creator of You and I Are Polar Opposites, which has a nice ensemble cast. The PV did pique my interest.
- Akane-banashi - the source material readers hyped this up, and I like anime about traditional art. However, the demographic is shounen, which doesn’t make it very exciting for me.
- Kirio Fanclub - there are two girls, who are friends AND rivals in love. And the love interest in question doesn’t even have eyes, like he isn’t actually important to their dynamic at all. How very fascinating.
Yuri potential. - Tadaima, Ojamasaremasu! - an adult cast and otaku culture? Sign me up. Based on the synopsis and the PV, though, I can tell it’s going to be very silly.
- Kujima: Why Sing, When You Can Warble? - What is this creature?
- Agents of the Four Seasons - moderately interested in it. It will be either a surprise or a disappointment.
All in all spring looks promising in the fantasy and slice-of-life departments, but I’m once again devastated by the sheer lack of originals. If I’m not mistaken, winter had none. Spring has just one, it seems.

The snake guy has a cute mouth.
Tasting poison because of simple curiosity was a bold move. What would Lizel do if Eleven didn’t have a healing potion on him? Does he have some kind of poison tolerance due to his position in his original world?
And by taming Eleven Lizel added the last guy from the poster to his harem.
I refuse to believe it’s neither BL nor a harem with Lizel being such a charmer.

Nice seeing Kohaku get flushed for a change. I’m starting to think he’s less of a relationship expert and more of a touchy-feely guy, which is fine, honestly, as long as Yoi consents and her boundaries are respected.

Scenes transition was so seamless it felt like the past, the present, and the future were talking to one another. Some concerns are generational.
Is this the first popular band club in anime, with an actual competition among its many members? You better write those lyrics, Asa.
It’s annoying how often Asa bothers Emiri with the boyfriend talk. I guess the only way for her to stop is for Emiri to open up to Asa, but she doesn’t seem to be ready yet.
Asa looked so smug when she gave Makio her first lyrics. She clearly expected praise, but was taught the feeling of embarrassment instead. It’s not cringe, Makio-chan, it’s you who cringes.

Watched We Were There, a shoujo romance with lots of drama that somehow manages not to feel overly artificial. It’s girly but at the same time heavy and very 2000s coded. Nanami and Motoharu are so different they struggle to understand each other, but neither can live without love, which makes both of them miserable, so they try to make it work because neither can let go. It was sad and painful to watch. I liked it enough to consider picking up the manga to see how this ends.
Now onto Nana. Ikoku Nikki has already destroyed me, so I might as well reach the bottom of the abyss while I’m at it.
- Comment on Red River | Anime Announced (Teaser Visual) 4 weeks ago:
Interesting that the staff includes historical researchers. Heard good things about this manga from shoujosei fans, and it’s a 90s isekai, which is the best sort of isekai, so of course I’ll be watching.

Kohaku has a hard time processing jealousy, which is a new feeling for him. Combined with her sister’s advice, it might give Yoi a necessary push to take two steps forward this time.

Regarding Seiichiro’s organ that is adapting to serve the function of the magical-energy-core, it’s a crude guess but I bet it’s going to be his prostate. Then, the show is going to say it would require some “stimulation” for it to function effectively
Isn’t the world of BL just wonderful? They come up with so many interesting ideas just to make two guys have sex.

Smart move from Seiichirou to come up with a plan that calls those kidnappers out. I didn’t expect he’d propose the solution to the whole Holy Maiden system. Now I wonder how smoothly it goes with those fanatics around. The King himself doesn’t seem to be opposed to the idea. Also, nice seeing Yua finally realize Seiichirou is the one to be trusted.

Yoi princemaxxing when Kohaku isn’t around to make her blush.
Avoiding Kohaku mission failed. The library scene was cute.
The new prince has a glowing aura.

Kohaku contemplating what dating even means and seeing the world in full colour again once Yoi shows up might just be the end of simple fascination phase for him.
I liked this episode. It made me look forward to more of Kohaku’s backstory, Yoi and Kohaku’s summer festival date and what kind of change the new guy brings to the currently established dynamic between them.

Hikaru voters, please, consider nominating “Hibi no Kage” for Best Musical Sequence (OP/ED or insert song) category. It was an insert song from Episode 7, performed both by the choir and Hikaru and Yoshiki as a duet later.

Finished Dear Brother. These step-siblings didn’t develop romantic feelings for each other? Unheard of! The whole onii-sama thing is more of a tool to progress the story and help Nanako to process her feelings by writing letters to Henmi. There is something poetic in such kind of storytelling.
Modern viewers will find Dear Brother overly dramatic and ridiculously intense, but it’s a good coming-of-age story that explores such themes as bullying, jealousy, self-harm, social hierarchy, friendship, first love, family ties, and more. I did find myself laughing at the drama at times, but it also had some humorous, more subtle moments that made me giggle.
The main heroine, Nanako, is very sweet and kind, but Mariko remains my favourite.
spoiler
She is so animated, charming and effortlessly funny once she overcomes her obsessive behaviour and finds true friends in Nanako and Tomoko. The always-plotting Miya-sama had such a scary, villainous aura, but at the end of the day she’s still too young and feels too much. She wasn’t irredeemable after all.
I’m glad I was able to appreciate this story to the fullest.

I rewatch lots of anime, but for some reason, I almost exclusively rewatch sentimental favorites and guilty pleasures. If something is undeniably outstanding, like Frieren, I have some sort of aversion to rewatching it. I’m not sure why.
Even this experience is universal, huh? In my case, I think, it’s because I’m subconsciously afraid of not liking it as much so it stops feeling special. I dread the feeling of disappointment.
I spent so much time the first time on edge, afraid that they were going to kill off characters I liked, and this time I knew that everyone who mattered to me was going to survive.
Frieren has an insanely great cast. Almost everyone is likeable. Who are your favourites?

What did she say last episode? I must’ve missed it.
She said that one of the girls was super cute right after entering the entrance ceremony hall. Like, why was it the first thing she noticed in the new environment? Sus.
You missed nothing, basically. I’m just picking up crumbs and putting them in a pile at the moment.
But what if she becomes a bassist?!
Nani?! Well, she did like that song’s bass part, but I think this is where the girl from the OP comes in.
