- Comment on Where do you typically leave/read reviews 2 days ago:
For reviewing, there’s nothing else but Google, Facebook or Instagram in my country, as far as I’m aware.
A few attempts were made, but it’s really hard to get a foot in nowadays.

I don’t know, those politicians and their partners aren’t the most faithful.
- Comment on For those of you who enjoy open-world games, how big of a world is too big? 5 days ago:
The bigger the better, as long as there’s content, or the game lets you create content (as in crafting).

Thanks, mate. I was on the phone last night, so I couldn’t check. I’ll give it a try.

Does it run on Linux?
- Comment on Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines, why is it so hyped? 1 week ago:
I got into Bloodlines after Redemption. It’s a setting I really liked, though I was never able to get into the TTRPG aspect of it.
Redemption has the better story and better RPG, but Bloodlines has better gameplay and better voice acting.
- Comment on What are your favorite games from a worldbuilding standpoint? 1 week ago:
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
I’d add Redemption as well. It’s super rough now, but I played it 20 years ago, and I was amazed by all the lore. I didn’t know until after I finished it, that the game was based on a TTRPG.
- Comment on What do you call the beleif that gods are just higher beings on other planes of existence? 1 week ago:
There was a period of my life when I was stoned out of my mind, and I thought “maybe we’re actually tiny things, thousands of levels below quarks, and the solar system is a molecule in a cell, and as we go beyond, maybe we’re inside some enormous being… And then I was like but make it fractal, and nearly went nuts trying to imagine it” 😂

Science fiction, maybe?
- Comment on Are bots on lemmy? 1 week ago:
That’s true. Tho, I’ve seen people who managed to get ChatGPT to output in “uwu/cringe”, so I’m still not going to let my guard down if I see something that doesn’t have good spelling and grammar.
- Comment on Are bots on lemmy? 1 week ago:
I’m hoping it’s not the case here on Lemmy.
I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, because a lot of us are ESL speakers from different parts of the world, so we might say things in a way that sounds strange or “unnatural” to native English-speakers.

All my life, and I don’t plan on having any relationships ever. Not interested.
The why is a bit complex. I’m physically disabled, and by now I’m starting to have trouble with basic stuff like showering and even going to the bathroom. One day, I’ll require assistance for those things, and not at old age. I don’t want to subject that on anyone (and I honestly doubt anyone would want to do it from day one either).
- Comment on Are there really no stupid questions? 2 weeks ago:
Of course, you’re just asking questions! /s
Every single one I’ve seen from you is pushing some agenda. I’m honestly surprised it’s taken this long for Lemmy to catch on.
- Comment on Why are people using the "þ" character? 2 weeks ago:
I wouldn’t say we’re awesome for being leftist, we clearly can be as shitty as anyone else, but we’re supposed to have the belief that it’s okay to be different, to have different ideas, and so on.
- Comment on Why are people using the "þ" character? 2 weeks ago:
Eh, I saw it once, spent a minute figuring out it’s the “th” sound and learned something new that day. Every time I see them, I know how to read it.
It’s not that big a deal.
- Comment on Why are people using the "þ" character? 2 weeks ago:
It doesn’t make a ton of sense. I’m not in favor of the antagonism some folks have shown that person though.
Agreed. That’s one aspect of small communities I don’t like, how people will pick on anyone who has some difference. Lemmy leans left mostly, one would think we’re above that sort of exclusion. 🤷🏻♂️
- Comment on Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition - Reveal Trailer 2 weeks ago:
Wow, this is lazy. I wanted FO3 to get a remaster, not this. It doesn’t even look different. The game currently runs pretty well on Linux. I played it last year with no issues. I’m generally not against remasters and remakes, but only when there’s obvious improvements or extra stuff. This is just the same game.
- Comment on Steam News - A new way to discover new & upcoming games: Personal Calendar 2 weeks ago:
It affected less than a hundred games since 2015, and Valve discovered it in late 2024, and sent an email to the affected developers. One of them made a reddit thread, which is what most people reference.
However, the dev that went public ended up being a bit weird, because the game had been in Early Access for 10 years, and at the time of release it was nowhere near what had been promised. They also sold 100k copies over the years, but apparently not selling a thousand on day one was too bad. Never mind that they didn’t seem to have a community, done any sort of marketing, or I don’t know, use itchio? They decided to abandon the game, and start a new project. 🤷🏻♂️ Reminds me of the Stranded Deep devs, so I’m not sympathetic at all.

SteamDB keeps track of prices. You can use their browser extension to see the historical lows in a game’s Steam page.
- Comment on Why would I buy this? 2 weeks ago:
I’ve always wondered what all the CoD or Battlefield games have that’s different between the versions? 😅 Because to me it’s just a bunch of people running around shooting each other in the exact same way. I can’t, at a glance, tell you which game or version it is, if I stumble upon someone playing it.
Same with the football, basketball, and American football games. Which version is it? Have the rules of the sport changed between years? 😂 Who knows!
On the other hand, I love survival crafting games, and with the indies you rarely tell them apart because they all look the same. 😂 So I shouldn’t speak.

In my country, a lot of the non-traditional bank apps are still down, with millions of people having lost access to their money. Can’t even buy groceries, pay the bills, or anything.
- Comment on similar to the word of mouth post, what game did you not expect much from but loved it? 3 weeks ago:
It’s not a game I ended up playing a lot, but during the pandemic one person I know gifted me a copy of Among Us, and kept insisting I play with him and his friends. I was reluctant at first because I’ve never had good experiences with multiplayer games, but I ended up having a great time. They were on Discord with mics, but I was text-only, and it was funny hearing them when I was the Impostor. When they all went to bed, I continued playing with some randoms for a few more hours, and also had a great time, some were sad when I decided to finally leave.
- Comment on Does Coke Zero taste different in the UK vs. the USA? 3 weeks ago:
I feel like I’m the only one who understood your question, and sadly I don’t live in either country, so I can’t say.
I do recall that when I switched from Diet Coke to Coke Zero (for some reason there was a shortage of Diet but not Zero), it took me a while to get used to it because Zero tastes way sweeter.

- Comment on Microsoft wants you to talk to your PC and let AI control it 3 weeks ago:
It’s honestly a bit worrying. I’ve been noticing the same trend with cars, where the user has less and less control and knowledge of how their car works.
And I think, contrary to the apparent end goal (to simplify things), this makes everything extremely complex, and it’ll bite us in the ass.
- Comment on Microsoft wants you to talk to your PC and let AI control it 3 weeks ago:
I don’t get it. Can I tell it to move a file from one folder to the other? Can I ask it to give me a diff of two folders? Or tell me if files are missing from one folder? Can it keep a sync between folders? Last time I checked, it only answered a bunch of simple questions.
What can this thing do that they keep trying to push it so bad?
- Comment on Are there any games you don't play as it was intended to be played? If so, what game and how? 4 weeks ago:
GTAV. I don’t care for the story or the shooting aspect, I just love to drive or walk around. I can’t do either irl, so I love it when games give me the option.
- Comment on [deleted] 4 weeks ago:
I never understood how to install any of it. In the time it’d take me to understand any of it, I’d have found 200 torrents. 😂
It kind of reminds me of my attempts at automating a simple, repetitive task on the desktop, and in the middle of it I’m like “fuck this!” and just end up doing it manually, and faster.
- Comment on European banks to launch euro stablecoin in bid to counter US dominance 1 month ago:
For countries where the currency is unstable, stable currency is a way to protect one’s savings.
Where I’m from, historically you’d save in USD. But in the last few years, the market has imposed dumb obstacles, like the paper notes being completely unblemished (something that isn’t even a thing in the US, as far as I’m aware). That’s where stablecoins have been useful for the locals.
